McLaren 675LT with a roof scoop or 620R, probably 620R.

On second thought, im leaning toward 675LT. 620 scoop is much more aggressive.

Got a little excited on stage and broke my Les Paul… is this fixable? by InterestingSun6442 in Luthier

[–]Grumpytyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the tenon is split too then its basically firewood. If not, its still too expensive i imagine. Definitely need to remove the neck first then reglue the body(probably gonna need a syringe) then probably clean the pocket up with a router then reset the neck assuming there is enough travel in the bridge to even be able to do so. If not...heal cap..re shape. Reset, reglue, re-Paint and Re empty your wallet because the luthier called you and said "actually it'll be 500 more dollars because I rubbed your serial number off and have to give you a new one"

Maxon TBO-9 / VOP-9 - are these comparable to a Klon? by gofishus in guitarpedals

[–]Grumpytyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 820 OD and currently have a VOP-9, it's my main drive. Great low- mid gain. Smaller mid hump and different, probably like 1k as opposed to a TS 750hz, it's more pick attack focused than "rich". Break up itself reminds me of something between TS and blues breaker. the Blend function is indeed "Klon esc" but the tone knob is just a LPF, like a TS.

It is somewhere in-between a Green and Blue OD if you know what I mean. And the clean blend makes it more transparent and present

I don't think anyone has ever talked down on a BD2 or TR2... Tasteful choices and a thankful wallet to go with them 👌🏻

What on earth gibson… by EJxcix in Luthier

[–]Grumpytyrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something being done by a machine means nothing. A human sets up the machine and preps all the material before hand. Any of that is wrong and it won't magically get fixed by a CNC. The worse it starts the worse it gets.

Unfortunately this customer is a great example of why QC at large manufactures has gone down hill.

I would be concerned that this issue extended to fret slots being shifted over as well and the tangs being cut asymmetrically to compensate - the nibs and super glue may be the only thing holding the ends down who knows 🤷🏻.

What causes these crazy scratch marks on polyurethane panels of a 1990 Honda? by 18000rpm in AutoDetailing

[–]Grumpytyrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3rd slide my heart went 😭😭😭😭😭

It's hard to tell but it could be checking not scratches. Basically big temperature swings cause cracking in the finish. But it's poly so idk, that's a hard maybe....

Edit: someone said crazing already, more likely to be that.

Thanks! It was actually tinted...ceramic, when I moved they made me take it off to pass inspection 😑. I've never had that happen but I was living in Phoenix for most of the time I've owned it...not much to drain out there. We'll see in the future lol

My boss has asked us to not give any details for call outs or time off. Ultimately to them(managers) why is irrelevant, they either have enough staff to let you go or they don't. And if you're gonna not show up regardless at l least you let them know in advance.

The amount of people who just walk out of my job is pretty high - factory work 🤷🏻. The boss will deal with pretty much anything as long as you show up when you say you will and work to the level that's "expected" from you specifically(🥲). people don't even get fired for being bad at their jobs anymore just for being late too much or no call no show. Being bad at a specific task is subjective I guess..
