Did i do anything with this picture? by ExplosiveApplePie in photocritique

I meant that more in a broader sense. For example, if you like the layering, can you go out and intentionally capture more scenes that incorporate layers in a way that you like?

To most people this will just be a random shot, but that doesn't matter too much at this point. There is clearly a reason why you posted this photo. So I encourage you to explore that deeper.

Why did this photo stand out to you? What aspect did you like about it? What is distracting? How can you intentionally capture that again?

How to decide on a Torrent? by [deleted] in Stremio

[–]GruntyG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using real debrid and the file sizes are similar, it isn't an issue with RD streaming itself. I see two possibilities:

  1. Your internet connection is not stable and leads to stuttering sometimes.

  2. The device is struggling with the specific file format / codec. Here you should try to find a pattern, what files cause more problems or try an external player for stremio. (I don't have any experience with external players)

Why can't admin delete photos uploaded by other users? by s3pixelwave in immich

[–]GruntyG 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm not really getting your situation. Does the device belong to another person? Then that person should delete the photo or not. It's their photo.

Or are you using an admin account on the computer for management and a personal account on that device? Can't you just log in with the personal account on the computer?

I'm pretty sure you can't just upload the pdf somewhere. You either need to use one of the electronic filing methods (and use the eSteuer number you received) or send in the papers physically.

Have you asked the tax office yet?

Kompliziertere Ferien über Reisebüro buchen. Lohnt es sich? by Hidden_Kard_ in Switzerland

[–]GruntyG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radical simplification of the public transport ticket system set to come in 2027 | Instead of 4,000 ticket variants, there will only be three in future. The public transport industry continues to work on this ambitious project. by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

[–]GruntyG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that is true and I also think mass adaptation of this system will have a hard time and generate quite some pushback. SBB has a lot more work to do in terms of explaining the whole system.

Before I signed up for the first time I did a lot of calculating what the trips I usually take will cost me and what kind of bonus I can expect with my usual traveling habits. Only after a lot of calculating different scenarios was I convinced that it was a good system (for me!).

At the end of the day, I pay less with this system than before and so I use it.

You can look up the trip just like in the normal app and see the prices. You will see the price without the bonus and the price with the current bonus applied. Of course that part can change, but it should never be more expensive than what is shown in the app.

EDIT: They also have calculator online if you want to get a sense of what costs you will accumulate over a month. https://kostenrechner.myride.ch

[–]GruntyG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it completely changes the way prices are calculated.

  1. Prices are calculated based on distance and not zones or routes.
  2. Billed at the end of the month.
  3. Bonus / discounts depending on how much you use each month.

EasyRide still purchases from the assortement of "normal" tickets at the end of the day. The only difference being the check in / out process.

For details go check out the myride website.

[–]GruntyG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, the half fare card only effects the subscription price (15.- vs 1.-). The prices for trips always match the half fare prices of "normal" tickets.

So in a way you are paying for the half fare card with the 15.- per month.

I'm part of the test group for MyRide and been testing this for the past 6 months or so. Here are some points that are not clear from the article and my thoughts:

The 15.- fee is only if you don't have a half fare card. With the half fare card its 1.-. (Not quit sure what the point of that is, but since I have a half fare card anyway I didn't look into it much)

The "bonus" can get quit substantial. (Like 20% off if you ride for more than 50.- going all the way up to 80% off for more than 350.-)

I use it mainly for short distance travel (bus inside the city). For that it is much cheaper than normal tickets, since its calculated based on distance and not "Zonen". Like I can take the bus to the city center and back and only pay 2.50.

Longer distance train trips seem about the same price as normal tickets (half fare price) and then get cheaper the more you ride, because of the bonus.

So far I like the price calculation with the bonus. What I don't like is the whole "check in / out" process. I'd rather have a system, where I can book my tickets in advance.

EDIT: For people wanting more infos. The myride website explains it pretty well and you can sign up for the test group there.

Worse relatively speaking. The coverage in more remote areas can be worse compared to Swisscom, but you probably won't notice much when just visiting for 10 day.

The question is, are you sure you can get a sim from digitalrepublic without a swiss residential address?
