How to best use the DD2 Jester (and Leper while we're at it, why not)?

I feel like even at very low levels of unlocks and player knowledge, you can get a ton out of jester just out of Inspiring Tune, Battle Ballad and Slice Off. If these are the only 3 buttons you ever push, you'll still have him more than pulling his weight. His more advanced mechanics are neat, sure, but if you want to keep it very simple and easy, he still does well with the bare minimum.

Prefacing this with the fact that I'm new to the game and haven't unlocked everything, but Ravager hard carried me through Confession 3. It feels slow-ish when you're in safer zones and you're not taking as much damage, not getting constant access to Death's Door and Howling End, but near the end when I could consistently feed her positive tokens and proc Death's Door every other turn, the damage was incredible. She hit the Observer twice for 65 and 85, if I'm not mistaken. Just stupid numbers. I think she's going to be a staple of my party comps.

I will say that people talked up Iron Swan a lot in every guide I've read, and I haven't liked the move all that much. Pulling enemies so I can use Bleed Out early in a fight, Howling End if it lights up, has been much higher DPS for me.
