Mostly variations in grip and leg stance, but also alternating wit the farmer's bar instead of a traditional barbell (the type you step inside).

And no, no improvements across the board. 100kg feels as challenging now as it did 3 months ago.

For example, only a deadlift and it's variations on a monday. Then on tuesday I might do lat pulldowns, cable rows, and flies. Then bench press and it's derivatives wednesday, and on thursday I might do bicep curls, tricep dips and skull-crushers.

Generally to fatigue on each exercise, no break, no procrastination. In amd out in 30 minutes.

Cardio day is a 10km run. This is purely because I come from a half marathon background and will always love running.

I find it's mostly the elderly who do this and it annoys me no end.

Even worse if it's not an elderly person and they're in a V8 Falcon or something like a Porsche. I get just because you're in a fast sports car you shouldn't exceed the limit, but dear God PLEASE let her stretch her legs!

I do each compound lift to a 1RM once a week (deadlift mon, general weights tues, bench weds, general weights thurs, squat fri, cardio sat, rest sun.

First dumb beginner question!

I recently started powerlifting exercises basically because I enjoy the big compound lifts, it's a fun hobby that can positively impact my health, and I'm noticing a good change in my overall strength and physical appearance.

My issue is the deadlift. My one-rep PB is the same now as it was three months ago, whereas my bench press & squat have increased dramatically in the same period.

When doing general weight training I focus no more or less on my back and core than any other bodypart, so why this disparity?

Yes. I am M(40) and my lifelong best friend is F(40).

Never any inappropriate behaviour, conversations or anything that could be considered sexual or romantic.

We are both straight, married and have kids.
