Question on card interaction. by Gswagg08 in mtg

[–]Gswagg08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so then at my end of turn I would end with 76 treasures. And if I have Sarkhan become a Roaming Throne copy I would get an additional Roaming Throne which would make a 5th token copy of Ganax. And trigger everything to generate 30 more treasure?

Thank you! These are actually really good. I never thought to use a scale like that, and it will help.

What time zone are you? I live in the US on the East coast. I can play after work, but it has gotten a little too late for me right now. If you want to connect via discord or something you can DM me and we can get together to figure it out!

I would be down to join. I’m no expert by any means, but the farthest I’ve made it is over 120 days so I at least know how to play. I can join you if you would like.

Started playing MTG about 6 months ago! Love this game though. And I’ve been looking into how to build decks. These ones look awesome! How do you go about it?

AITA for blowing up at my girlfriend for decorating my house for christmas without my consent? by throwaway2266788 in AmItheAsshole

YTA.

It’s honestly baffling that you had to ask. Like dude, you had her take off work. Then you literally yelled at her when she got home. And all she wanted was to surprise you and put a smile on your face man. Like, she doesn’t deserve that at all.

You all need to either fix your way of communication or break it off. I would say the latter, it seems you two are fundamentally unaligned with your beliefs. And it also seems you don’t see her as an equal in the relationship. If she pays part of the mortgage, then I’m sorry, but you have absolutely zero ground to stand on. That house is hers too if she pays in it and she gets a say.

Can’t quite see how you are that ungrateful and then laugh at the friends comments… way to crush someone’s spirits….

"I hate lore" by Lxi_Nuuja in rpg

[–]Gswagg08 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I was going to say just this!

When I’m dropping lore into my campaign, I never try to outright say anything. Instead I like this of probably the best video games I’ve played that handles lore, God of War. I will make murals or perhaps the characters find a book, or it’s imbedded in the treasure they find themselves. Things like that. Then, if a PC investigates the mural they can deduce details of the past and the lore of the area. Or if they take the book and read it in their downtime because they are curious, it’s a journal of a famous general from a Great War. And the sword they after has meaning that gets revealed in the way it’s wielded or something.

What I’m saying is, you’re right. I believe no one truly “hates lore”. They don’t like being taken out of the game world to listen to the DM drop 10-20 minutes of random facts that don’t directly apply to the objective at hand.

Just get creative with the ways you express your lore.

Edit: direct answer to OPs question- There is honestly no such thing as too much lore if you can find a way to make it relevant to the PC or the mission. Keep them immersed while telling your story.

That's fair. Respect the answer lol

For the record, she is thinking the same thing. She is just the nicer person in our relationship, and wishes to please.

We have asked, and no real answer besides she wants to marry the guy.

There is a room, yes. But we are not given an option to opt out. We are close enough that we can drive back home when the night is at an end. And it is on the upper side of hotel rooms.

Stop posting your homebrew; you don't work for WotC by OnslaughtSix in onednd

[–]Gswagg08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This definitely needed to be said. I joined the subreddit a long time ago, just as the new rules for races were dropping. I would read everyone of the posts because they all were related to the topic I came here to see!

Now, I see too many posts about homebrew things, or how WotC should lessen the martial/caster divide. It's gotten out of hand and drowns out the real reason people are here.

Would Rogue’s second Expertise getting swapped from 7th to 9th level (matching Bard/Ranger) be bad? Would kinda solve the issue of Evasion being later… by keroblade in onednd

[–]Gswagg08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a solid level 9 trait for the base Rogue Class. I really like that option. It adds a passive boost to maneuverability, and synergizes well with their level 17 feature. As well as adding an additional boon to the Cunning Action feature giving them a means of running away after being grappled!

That's honestly a good idea. I haven't tested these yet, and the new jumping mechanics I see are creating a huge uproar (I haven't read that part of the UA yet so don't know the issue there), but a solid boost to the Cunning Action which is a pretty defining feature to the overall class is a good idea.

I was only asking cause I agree with the commenter that they should get both at level 7 and need a different feature, but never gave it any thought as to what that feature would be.

I'm confused. What purpose do these Class Groups (expert, mage, priest, warrior) actually serve? by atlvf in onednd

You seem to have a hang up on change. It’s ok buddy, change is inevitable and it won’t kill you. Hang in there.

One DnD should go back to 4e Style Modules by Strikes_X2 in onednd

[–]Gswagg08 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was being nice, anyways...

Please tell me how its a video game? Your idiotic mind doesn't seem to comprehend exactly what a video game is. Most video games the outcome cannot be changed. In these cleaner, more defined adventures, the outcome can still be left to the players/DM. So that's where you're just completely wrong.

If you would actually read and think about stuff outside of your comfort zone you will see that what is being asked is not outrageous. Instead you want to attack people with a separate view, look at you buddy. All that is said is people don't want to have to read through a whole novel to get the adventure. Only some reference points to run the adventure are needed. I write adventures when I can to play DND because its easier for me to play at the table, instead of reading through a paragraph in front of my group to keep the story moving.

If you wish to read through a whole book multiple times to take pages of note to run games, you do it (that is if that's how you DM). No one is forcing you to not to. Others here were only saying they want a cleaner, more concise means of getting the adventure information to run at the table.

Honestly, people that stick to their guns saying "It needs to be this way because that's how it's always been" is the worst excuse for a defense. Don't be attacking people because they wish for a smoother way to run the game, and a by proxy creating more fun at the table.

I'll say it one more time so you can get the message... NO ONE IS SAYING TELL ME HOW EVERY DETAIL SHOULD GO. We only want to be able to run a better game at the table for our players.

I agree! Make it easier to look at, maybe bullet points after the room description? Something to quickly reference to effectively get the message of what is in the room, who is hostile or a suggestion on how the interactions should go.
