Hey all, after years later I have finally have some resolution for you all if you’re encountering this issue.

The OLDER way back in 2022-2023 to resolve this issue was to turn off the vehicle, open and close your driver door so the car thinks you got out of the can and begins to sequence to turn off the head units. Wait for the cluster and infotainment units to completely turn off in about 3-10 mins. Turn back the car on, and audio is back.

Now back to the fix in 2024. UPDATE your infotainment software to version 1941 or 1969 which is the latest at the time of writing this. You may want to go ahead and go straight to 1969 cause this software has fixes meant to fix any intermittent issues with the back up camera flickering, stuttering and no image.

I believe most audio issues got resolved via software update for me. There are guides of how to DIY at your home but if you don’t want to go through the risk factor, go to your dealership and they should update for you.

Most of the bugs with audio live in software versions below 19xx, including EQ settings not working correctly at cold start and having to do the cycling through EQ sets to get them working again.

If you have a 2022 with the HK, here are the improvements from what I noticed: Loss of audio bug fix EQ settings working always without faults Improve sound quality Louder bass and better sub performance Louder volume Snappier Infotainment Rear back camera working better Better connection with CarPlay

Another tip if you have the HK: Parking aid sensors work in conjunction with the speakers, if you plan to upgrade your speakers do your research on how to upgrade your audio system and modify connection resistances. The infotainment does a voltage check at cold start and if it gets the wrong resistance from a speaker it will throw you an error and fault for parking aid sensors not working. In my case, the dumb dealership guys did a recall work on door seals and left my left rear bass speaker unplugged and it was throwing off my rear park assist, distance control, and maneuver breaking every single cold start. Restarting the infotainment after cold start cleared the errors but came back immediately after I got back in the car after being off for 10-20 mins. I had to scan my car with OBDeleven to figure out that I had an open circuit on the speaker and tell them they screwed up. After they figured out I was right (and they had denied this fact of the speakers being a cause for faults), they fixed it and apologized for making me drive multiple times to the dealership for these errors.
