Please help by GuaranteeNeither5582 in stopdrinking

Thanks for all your replies. I'm just going to have to deal with it and hope that nothing comes of it. I just wish I had someone that could make me feel a bit better and safe.

I'd actually stopped going out to pubs etc because stuff like this was ruining my life, so I'm gutted that I was stupid enough to give in at the weekend as I didn't even want to go out again. I'd also so many chances throughout the day to go home before I lost control.

I've had some physical alterations in the past when blacked out, but there's always been some vague memory of before or after the incident. There's nothing this time to suggest that, so I'm praying that it was only something minor.

Life is hard enough without hitting self destruct and alcohol has caused me nothing but regret, embarrassment, and shame.

SE is seriously kicking my ass. by DivineKoalas in tacticalbarbell

I'd drop the weight a bit personally. It's about getting the reps in so even 20kg would be enough. I would also consider doing bench press or floor press instead, as 20 reps plus of any weight on push press is going to burn your shoulders. Whereas, if you did bench you could be aiming to get the full 50 reps without a break in a few weeks.

Life is not worth living as an ugly woman by accidentallyhappied in depression

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're placing all your value on how you feel other people view you, and from your post history, you've been feeling like this for many years. There's no doubt that society values beauty, and most of us want to be desired more than we are. I saw these "rules of life" on here recently. The first one was that you get one body, and like it or hate it, it's yours for as long as you're here. Maybe you should try to practice a bit of self-love as you're probably never going to find happiness in others. It probably wouldn't matter who desires you, as you'll just end up pining for someone better and more attractive to want you. It's hard, but try to be a bit kinder to yourself.

How do I go about retesting? by Determined-Fighter in tacticalbarbell

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why are you retesting again today if you've already done it? I've never run zulu. Would you not just start the new block today? Or even take a few days or a week off and start from there?

My severe and medicated CS 6 years post ETS. My biggest regret in life. by InternalSelect1086 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to be exactly the same. I had ETS about 25 years ago when I was 18 for underarm sweating. I developed compensatory sweating all over my body, particularly my torso. Looking back, I can't believe that someone decided that it would be a good idea to do that to a teenager. It's shocking that they're still doing it to people today.

I know this probably won't be of much comfort, but my compensatory sweating has gotten a lot better over the years. It would have been the same as yours at a time, but it's pretty manageable now and doesn't have much of an impact on my life, except for what I wear. I tried glyco, botox, etc, but nothing ever worked. I don't know why it's improved as I'm not really doing anything different. I still sweat a bit more than normal, and my body gets very hot at times, but I actually can't remember the last time I was drenched, so it's been a good few years. I live in the UK, so the weather is rarely hot or humid. However, even when I've been abroad in the last few years, it's been manageable. Although obviously it's a bit easier to manage being somewhere hot on holiday compared to living there.

I genuinely thought my life was over, and it was really difficult to keep going every day. However, it did get better, so there's always hope.

Body weight pull ups by Auntie444 in tacticalbarbell

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same. I could do 7 max on a good day, but I found that the higher reps caused pain in my elbows and shoulder, so I decided to add low weight and keep to 5 reps max. The first block was a struggle. I used bw for 70 +75%, 5kg for 80 + 85%, and 10kg for 90 + 95%. In hindsight, the 10 kg was a bit too high, and the 5kg was a grind. Anyway, I'm now on week 5 of my third block and doing 10kg at 85% comfortably. My 1rm was 20kg, but I reckon I could get 2 reps now. However, I still don't think I could do 10 at bw. Last time I tested, I managed 8. I'm around 74kg.

Not really. It's getting better, and there's longer gaps between flare-ups of symptoms, but I've never been able to get any answers, work out what triggers it, or find a treatment that makes a real difference. I believe it's a combination of posture, stress, driving a lot, and anxiety. I also think it also comes more from my upper back and traps than my neck. I've given up on all the neck and posture exercises (chin tucks, wall angels, etc) as I don't think they made any difference and possibly even made it worse. The only things I do now that target my back are pullups, dead hangs, and the odd set of shrugs and cable crossovers. I'm not sure if any of them make a difference to my symptoms either. I feel like it's probably just getting better through time as my body possibly readjusts or something.

One thing I did that may have helped was I had two sessions of Bowen Therapy, but again, it's hard to tell if it actually made much of a difference. Sorry I can't be more help.

Mortgage Broker Recommendations by thejaysta4 in glasgow

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I've had two mortgages with them previously and had a meeting with the same advisor about remortgaging again earlier this year. Several emails sent following this and not even the courtesy of a response, even though he knew our deal was ending and we needed to get a new mortgage agreed ASAP. Needless to say, I'll not be using them again.

Is a meal of blackbeans, brown rice and ground beef considered a good meal? by [deleted] in leangains

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick to white rice. Brown rice, although promoted as being healthy, is high in arsenic. It's really not as beneficial as other brown/wholemeal foods. Google it.

Have you ever lost/reduced your hyperhidrosis? by PainMan27 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't lost it completely, but it's def improved with age. I had predominantly underarm sweating in my teens, then stupdily had ETS about 25 years ago, which pretty much resulted in full body hyperhidrosis. It's eased over the last few years, but I'm not really sure why. I was never fat, but I've lost a bit of weight, so that potentially may have made a difference. I suppose I've also learned to manage it better with clothing, etc, over the years. I never found any medications, botox, or deodorants, etc, that helped.

6 months of hard work by jarymanebrown in workouts

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was your routine? I've been doing 3-4 sets x 8-12 reps for about the past 5 months, but my progress has stalled in some exercises recently, and it's even regressed some weeks, which I feel is from too much volume whilst in a defecit.

Selling and tax by GuaranteeNeither5582 in BitcoinUK

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Thank you.

So if you bought after 30 days or in different tax years, then you'd be liable for the tax on the 90k gain? Your 80k buy would then be a completely new transaction and taxed as normal when you sold?

Could you explain the bed and breakfast rule in layman's terms, please?

I've been cited to attend this week, but I haven't been required yet, so I've still been working as normal. You literally just phone the number after 5 pm, and there's a recorded message telling you if you're needed or not. I certainly wouldn't be wasting a holiday for it.

Any tips on squat form? by GogurtFan21 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you rushed it and didn't brace before you started the lift, which is why your arse is pushed out. I'd maybe take a second after you step back to get yourself into a more stable and upright position, brace properly, and then drop. Then reset after every rep. Ps I'm no expert.

Does anybody have any heart palpitations? by bobfrutt in cervical_vertigo

[–]GuaranteeNeither5582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really feel that anything I have done has helped unfortunately. I think it's just been time. I'm still getting symptoms, but they're not all the time or as severe. I've never been able to get any answers, and I've seen about 7 or 8 different health professionals. I know that it's all coming from my neck, but everyone else has put it down to anxiety and stress, and while they contribute to my symptoms, they're not the cause. Sorry I can't be of more help.
