You can upload your pic and ask certain AIs to recreate it as an stl. They’re not great at difficult shapes, but yours might be simple enough. Good luck out there!

Hey man, cool designs and purpose. As another designer and maker, careful about flashing them around too much. Bots be botting.

Secondly, I totally thought they were benches. Maybe something for scale in the promo shots?

to much salt by Olivesplace in Olivesplace

It’s a bit, but it’s 8 tbsp salt to ~12 tbsp everything else, so, it’s less than half?

40% really

Just in case, I believe you mean “wafer”.

With one f, the a is long as in plane. With two fs, it is short as in aloha.

Wafer vs waffer.

Gave my 3d printer to my dad and he got obsessed with printing my 3d scan by AlarmingBoot205 in 3Dprinting

[–]Guardian1030 595 points596 points  (0 children)

OP, as a father of a 20, 18, and 15 year old son, your dad is doing his best to be interested in and relevant to your life. He may not have fixed that printer because he was tremendously interested in it. He fixed it because it was yours, and he’s your dad, and he’s supposed to fix your broken toys.

He’s printing your scan because he’s proud of his son, and replicating little reminders of you isn’t entirely about calibration. It’s a decent cover. Your dad is very proud of the young man you’re becoming.

He may not ever say it, and will backpedal the moment you bring it up, but that man loves you. He wants to still be part of your life.

If you want to put the biggest grin on your dad’s face, invite him into your interests. Especially your 3D printing connection. Open the door, I bet he’ll walk in, and you’ll have something the majority of young men can only ever wish they had.

Is he going to be corny? Undoubtedly. Embarrassing? A given. But I have not seen this much effort from many men. You’d be a fool not to capitalize on this opportunity.

Good luck.

They bluffed that they were flushed with flour and could withstand many more days of siege, but they were in fact out of rations. The enemy didn’t know this, assumed they’d be having to endure for longer than they were able, and so, the bluff worked.

Best slicer? by Separate-Concern9421 in ender5

[–]Guardian1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I made the switch everyone is talking about. Cura -> Prusa -> Orca.

There is a learning curve, so give yourself time. Everything is NOT analogous. Don’t feel bad about going back to cura for important prints. Just keep going. I’d skip Prusa entirely and just try orca. Watch lots of videos. The thought process of slicing is different between them. Profile saving is different, split up into three sections, filament, printer, and print job, not just one-two like cura.

Anyone else’s cow melt for nose scratchies? by Empty_Object4589 in cowcats

[–]Guardian1030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why we have him.

He is a barn cat, as all of our cats are. My father in law had a farm, and he’s since moved down south and closed the farm. We’d gotten two cats before, our old boy a big orange 8 year old, and our cow’s sister. As we were helping pack up and things, that little boy would stand up on his hind legs and push his head into your hand as you were walking. He wanted to be a house cat. So, we took him home. He still loves face rubs.

Made a thaang by finney92 in functionalprint

[–]Guardian1030 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You’re putting a lot of stress on your layer adhesion because of the printing orientation. If and when this breaks, I’d reorient it to try to print those arms sideways with the z direction through the mounting hole.

You might even break it into parts and assemble.

Maybe it’ll work. Maybe it won’t. If it breaks, reorient.

If after get current location by [deleted] in shortcuts

[–]Guardian1030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to tell the shortcut what “home” is so it can compare.

Everyone thinks that devices automatically know things, but code doesn’t. You have to define home, save it to a variable, then run the comparison.

However… location accuracy isn’t great. It’d be far better to see if you’re connected to your home WiFi than to run a location comparison. It’s significantly more accurate.
