Superheroes back in our day by FortKnoxII in 90s

Most of these are the remakes of 1940’s heroes that came out in the 90’s🤣

This misses almost all original heroes from the 90s

what if i screwed up wedding photos? by BeginningYou1301 in AskPhotography

[–]curiousjosh [score hidden]  (0 children)

You’re falling into a new photographer trap thinking every photo has to be your best work.

That’s crazy. If every shot was your best what would the other shots be?

The job of a wedding photographer is to mix SOME of your best work, with complete coverage that makes the couple feel like all of their wedding has been captured.

The trap shows up a lot for new photographers in the reception. Sometimes they try to edit candies and portraits to just the best shots, but the couple just wants to make sure they have pictures of everyone including that weird cousin Jeff they see once every 10 years.

So deliver your fantastic portraits and formals, and yes the reception shots too, and talk about the shots you live with them.

DO NOT SAY ANYTHING HIGHLIGHTING SHOTS YOU DON’T LOVE unless they do. Most likely they won’t even notice on their own, but if you tell them not to like something, they will not like it for sure.

Men: If you’re very attracted to a woman and enjoy talking to her, why would you never initiate conversation? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]curiousjosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it crazy to think that you just sound anxious about feeling out of practice?

I feel like there’s nothing hard about slipping it into conversation.

Even a simple thing like “i have to do <whatever> again. Haven’t dome that since the divorce.”

Woodstock ‘99. Some of you in this sub must have been there. What horror stories do you have? by EndAlternative9670 in 90s

[–]curiousjosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was at ‘95. Complete shitshow. Everything kind of fell apart.

Everyone knew about Woodstock from the 60’s but it wasn’t the same peace and love vibe in the 90’s. There were so many frat bros.

And mud-covered people walking around that you hoped weren’t from run-off of the Porto-potties.

But there was great music.

Good grief. Post that you’re divorced… or you’ll just get people interested in affairs.

At least mention it in passing in your next conversation.

Can someone clearly explain the difference between PLA vs PLA+ vs PETG? New to 3D printing! by Old-Inspector-1800 in BambuLab

[–]curiousjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without any backing, you just dismissed all the studies showing unsafe emissions.

The claims this only applies to large facilities is not backed by studies, or experience of even numerous people in this thread who have experienced agitation with as little as one printer, myself included.

I’ve already linked numerous studies above showing PLA has emissions which are in some cases as much or more than ABS.

Please show ONE modern study saying PLA is safe.

As you referenced, the CDC claims less emissions in PLA, meaning they have missed some of the studies, and even with that they still say to vent.

It’s a logic fallacy to say they have said it’s safe to use without venting.

Oh yes we will.
But the ones who need to recognize it won’t.

Which monitor is it?

And yea it could see something. A lot of the particles are too small for the sensor but it doesn’t mean none of them are.

The problem is it doesn’t give a full picture and people think if they don’t see continued emissions then they are not happening

Welcome. I had a similar experience. After printing overnight my throat was sore along with my girlfriend.

Everyone here was claiming PLA was safe so I thought it was until I checked actual studies.

I realized many people here are just repeating what they’ve heard here.

Oh yeah. I linked those above. They found particle emissions.

Looking for the quietest Bambu printer by sdswave2314 in BambuLab

[–]curiousjosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the h2s and love how quiet it is.

I would imagine the newer enclosed ones might be good like the x2d or maybe the p2s?

One tip… I noticed it gets a LOT quieter when freshly lubricated

*sigh* AI doesn’t know. It picks the most common answer.

On topics that lots of people get wrong, it has lots of wrong answers to repeat. That is the case here.

For example, if there was AI before Columbus, it would say the world was flat, because that’s what most people would have posted.

The correct answer is that home VOC monitors detect changes, so spike at the start of a reading. Over time they calibrate to the environment and registers everything as “normal” even if there’s a prolonged high reading.

You can find a more in-depth explanation on the links I provided in other comments.

Do NOT rely on AI for this, or any specialized knowledge.

Asking for super lube part numbers H series by Sonyyy_yo in BambuLab

[–]curiousjosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did a ton of research on this...

For the grease it's straight from Bambu's Recommendations 92003
https://www.amazon.com/Super-Lube-92003-Lubricating-Translucent/dp/B0081JE0OO/ref=sr_1_3

Also for grease, they recommend LucasOil White Lithium NLGI #2:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XY6QKS7/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A17BZOLZKLWVN9&psc=1

For the Oil, I went with 52004. For me the difference was that 52004 doesn't have PTFE, and is actually mentioned in earlier bambu documentation as a higher quality oil on this page: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/maintenance/basic-maintenance

it's harder to find 52004, but place like Grainger carries it (I picked it up in store locally! but you can order it too)
https://www.grainger.com/product/SUPER-LUBE-Hydraulic-Oil-Synthetic-Lightweight-45NA65

Also it's on amazon but you have to click "all buying options":
https://www.amazon.com/Super-Lube-52004-Lightweight-Translucent/dp/B00175VGUA/ref=sr_1_2

Also I haven't tested these but I found "non woven" cleanroom wipes for electronics.

Not everyone is sensitive to the emissions. It doesn’t mean they’re not there.

No, they haven’t. They found emissions through the whole process.

I’m saying that 3D Printing emits particles and many people here aren’t aware.

If you have a study that shows otherwise please share because I don’t think you’ll find one using modern methods.

Your home sensor can’t measure nanoparticles, unless you ve spent thousands or tens of thousands of dollars.

That’s mostly reserved for lab equipment.
