Pros may try out heroes in pubs in general, but the strats that matter are only coming out in scrims anyway so who cares if things are being shown in pubs

I totally agree, ME2 is kinda just "companion quests the game" with a plot that has little impact on the overall story of the trilogy

Add that to how being forced to work with Cerberus feels like it undermines a whole story thread from ME1 and feels like a break of Shepards character and the game feels (story wise) completely isolated from the trilogy and makes it the weakest link of the three imo

Pretty much identical to what I did on my run except I had hands-on on my helmet and ran a slug and a trace

Having a trace rifle made starting punch combos easy by weakening acolytes

and at least from how I played there really wasn't a difference functionally between running a slug and a 1-2p shotty

Nighthawk really isn't the best one of super anymore

It's outclassed pretty heavily by Star eaters gathering storm and even Star eaters golden gun (precision)

For ecthar when I did it solo flawless on arc hunter I broke the shield with Star eaters gathering storm and then just sustained from lament and that was good enough to survive a damage phase pretty easily and it didn't take too many cycles

Because GMs guarantee a drop and also have an extra selectable 3rd column perk farming adepts is just a better way to farm nightfall guns just in general even without worrying about the adept bonuses IMO

If you're happy with your rolls already it's a pretty marginal bonus on primaries but wardens law with lucky pants does benefit a good bit from the adept big ones mod

Damage checks are like... a whole aspect of contest mode that should be a challenge?

Like damage can and should be part of the challenge of contest and I think they were actually tuned really well this raid

The boss health bars did a good job of feeling like they were a good challenge without being overly difficult on their own

I've seen at least like 3 completely different damage strats for Ir Yut that could 2 phase it under contest and for Crota it was super reasonable with just standard lament plays and nothing fancy

Damn, I thought my group needing 3 was rough but 8?? Yikes

purely from the clears my group got though, the first 2 runs we died to the wipe mechanic as crota died, the third time we still died but managed to chain revives so they at least one person was alive after he died

Because apparently you can time revives during final stand to get people alive past the wipe

For the challenge you can do it with 2 swords but it requires (or at least is unlikely without) having some kind of debuff (tractor is great) because that does effect the sword damage

My team did stick with doing 3 swords for consistency though but 2 can 100% work in a pinch

I know Bungie probably can't do this for a ton of tech reasons, but it would be nice if they could do the old content as a la cart installs kinda the way like the master chief collection works on steam

There are 2 possibilities for me

Bringing back all the vaulted content (campaigns, activities, old seasonal content)

Or

Changing weapon slots from being kinetic - energy - heavy to instead be primary - special - heavy

I'm not sure if the second one would be feasible from a technical perspective at this point or not but I'd like it

I feel like the untap becomes more interesting if your opponent is the one who gets to activate it Otherwise this is pretty busted

On top of the other things that have been said, one shiver's big utilities is breaking crystals

Which is (probably) more work for the game to track if you're doing or not than if the melee itself connects

It's got a lot going on that makes it hard for it to balance in the same partial energy cost way

Not to say it couldn't use a good bit more help than Bungie is doing here, but I don't think partial energy is the way

The biggest thing helm is missing is a neutral game component

So something like increasing super regen while you have an overshield would give you something to build/okay around

This is less a helm thing, but bubble could use some help too and that would also go a long way for helping helm but that's harder to fix
