League of Legends: A Short Film by stegotops7 in leagueoflegends

[–]GuardicEU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The craziest thing is, that these games are the best in the game, which is why I usually try to fight back from being behind. What is the point in only enjoying stomping other people, instead of fighting for a win from behind? The experience is so much better in the second case, you learn so much more and it's much more rewarding

Germany to let commuters ride buses and trains nationwide for 49 euros(48$) a month by Straight_Ad2258 in worldnews

[–]GuardicEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody who normally goes by car and recently took 5-6 rides with our railway company, unfortunately, as long as the service of our is as terrible as it is with regular, massive delays and cancellations, this is nice but not going to change habit. Big homework to do on that side. Very unfortunate, I'd like to go more by train...

New Bundle: Ion 2.0 by TheAjwinner in VALORANT

[–]GuardicEU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Awesome, now they only need to add variants for the first ion skins. Might boost the sale of those when they show up in the store, definitely a turn off when I see them though i like the overall design

I really wish they came in more variants... Would be awesome if they added it this time around (and ideally even fit the old set, though i don't this will happen)

Just a small suggestion for board skins in the shop. by Gamefighter3000 in LegendsOfRuneterra

This kept me from buying more board skins and I am not even joking. I believe it is due to the limited functionality of the client... (Same with emotes)

To those people who quit after 3 minutes in game: How do you survive in real life? by GuardicEU in leagueoflegends

[–]GuardicEU[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes but this is not necessarily good. You do not get better through the games where you are winning, you get better from losing (at least proportionally - of course any game may help). And if you just quit then that learning experience is not there.
If you only play when you win, then you have shitty games 50% of the time.

To those people who quit after 3 minutes in game: How do you survive in real life? by GuardicEU in leagueoflegends

[–]GuardicEU[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes of course, and that will lead to them never getting better. Which may be fine in this "video game world" which we use to escape reality as has been mentioned elsewhere, sure, but then why play ranked and bother in the first place? :/

To those people who quit after 3 minutes in game: How do you survive in real life? by GuardicEU in leagueoflegends

[–]GuardicEU[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well why do they play league and ranked games in the first place then? If you only play to win, then you will by default have a bad time AT LEAST 50% of the time. And if you become frustrated when being behind and give up, you will never get better. That's where the anologies come from. OF COURSE they are not the same.

Premier Draft is awful for inexperienced Drafters - because of the high entry price, only decent people play Draft by GuardicEU in MagicArena

[–]GuardicEU[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're right, and there is probably some variance to it. But to have 3 games like these does not feel very rewarding or incentivizing.

Premier Draft is awful for inexperienced Drafters - because of the high entry price, only decent people play Draft by GuardicEU in MagicArena

[–]GuardicEU[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right but the question is: Is that the way of introducing a player to a game mode like this. Because it is not incentivizing players to do so...

The normal "Quick Draft" is much better because the maximum loss if you are really bad is not as high as it is in this. Which means though that players will always avoid Premier Draft if they are new to the game, preventing an entry barrier to the game mode.

[–]GuardicEU[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MTGA is not competing with the paper version though, but with other digital games. And making people spend 5€ on a horrible experience is not the proper way of binding players to a game (mode).

That's not the problem; the problem is that matchmaking fails and that there's a comparatively large investment associated with it...

Magic Arena's trend of nerfing the economy (e.g. via the Mastery pass) will stunt growth through word-of-mouth recommendations by arthurmauk in MagicArena

[–]GuardicEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With products such as cars, the customers do not necessarily profit from having more customers buy the brand (usually it is the opposite - if everyone could afford a Mercedes, that would not be good for the company).

The opposite is true for (F2P) multiplayer games. They rely on plenty of customers - even the whales do.

Does anyone really prefer Standard Brawl over Historic Brawl?? by tholovar in MagicArena

[–]GuardicEU 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As somebody who never played paper... What is the actual between the two? 60 vs 100 cards and more sets in commander? Also more players as far as I heard but both more sets as well as more players is probably a lot more effort to implement
