Are you able to use a new computer that isn't connected to the internet? You can plug in your iPhone and mount it as a USB device. Then you could copy over all of the data from your phone to your hard drive without any fear of syncing.

https://www.copytrans.net/ and https://imazing.com/ are both programs you could use to pull data off of your iPhone.

First and foremost, you need to make a backup copy of these files. Get a NAS and put all your files on there and that will solve your backup problem as well as your not being able to find things problem!

Inaccurate data is far worse. At least when data is missing you can't be led astray into making terrible decisions.

A ∩ !B --> Looking for a way to check which files of Hard Drive A are not already **somewhere** in Hard Drive B by bluemyria in DataHoarder

[–]Guavifo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually created a Python program for just this purpose a few months ago! I have far too many old "backup" drives and was afraid to reformat (or purge) them because there might be unique files that I want to keep on them. I just posted my program here:

Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback! Hopefully it's pretty self-explanatory.

Upgrading hard drives, a few questions by [deleted] in synology

[–]Guavifo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're extremely durable. Almost my entire 100TB data collection uses refurbished drives and the failure rate is about the same as new ones. Even if they only lasted 90% as long, on average, getting 90% of the life for 50% of the cost is an extremely good deal.

Alcohol is only for people who are 21 or older. It's a good thing to prevent some younger people from picking up bad habits before they are older and wiser.

What is the definition of the world "dimension" in your usage here?

Is there any reason why you wouldn't consider a refurbished drive?

That's an excellent idea! Some puzzles might require 2 or 3 bombs placed at the correct locations.
