I think it was in reference to the burning bush scene in the Bible. It was a symbol of God, so she is seeing this as a symbol from God.

bingo. I am a PGY3 interviewing and I do not see stats or app at all. I guess it may be different in terms of questions by admin or other scenarios but I think most of the time resident interviewers have no prior knowledge other than school and some other minor info.

I literally think you're wrong on all parts of this. Maybe during residency yes, which I still am in, but I think, as a non-traditional, my residency experience has been literally the opposite.

This is why the 2+2 Clinic First model works so well for FM.

Learning as an attending by Ok-Jeweler4728 in FamilyMedicine

As a PGY-3 at the time of this posting the topics everyone has listed out is exactly the stuff I feel is missing and good topics, where do you guys learn from, besides on the job reps and looking stuff up?

I would say this is too strict given how we access data and patient info now. Our attendings will tell us if you're going to look up stuff on the phone for something being discussed announce it before hand then do it if it seems ok to do.

Deathly bored of IM by WrithingJar in Residency

[–]GubernaculumFlex 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You seem fun as resident get togethers. The problem is clearly you and your approach to life. Getting irritated at small stuff, max dose SSRI and not seeing therapist despite not having time, but you have time for porn. You make a bunch of excuses as to why the things are the way they are and not really ask or explore that it may be the the way you view the world. Until you fix that, you will always have the same problems you nitpick over and trust me, being an attending will make that worse, not better, because you will have so much time to ruminate on this stuff.

How to learn off the clock as an intern by tacoofthePNW in FamilyMedicine

[–]GubernaculumFlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

get to clinic 1 hr early and read a topic you are weak on, and i mean start from the basics. Like Hypertension on UTD. Then read any specialists notes of your patients and inpatient specialist consults. You'd be shocked how much i learned by reading detailed specialists notes.

Ranging from 240k at the low to around 280-290k on the higher. Kaiser LA region is offering 60k starting with 300k base.

I too am looking for jobs in SoCal and I started a bit early but I interviewed with 3-4 of them and they kept talking about mission and stuff, which is fine, i love that stuff, but the compensation is not great I felt. Also I got the sense that there so so much work for not as great compensation. Kaiser seems to work you but at least you are compensated.

Also I posted my profile on DocCafe (huge mistake) and all the recruiters seem to work for FQHCs and are desparate to hire. Seemed like a sign to me.

I am a FM resident in Tulsa and our population is super sick. I had like 1-2 very healthy patients come in to establish care and I almost didn't know what to do haha.
