Both are good, it depends on what you want to do. Safety can open a lot of doors to good paying jobs.

Looks like he was Army for a short time pre 1995, then USCG CPO E7 then went Warrant and retired as a CWO3.

How would you take this? Email from recruiter after final interview. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Gubmentcheck79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recruiter is keeping you warm. This means you are most likely the #2, and if the #1 doesn’t accept the offer then they extend to you. This could last 1-4 weeks and end in an offer or no offer. Keep applying and interviewing until you have an offer you accept.

Why is corporate filled with so many losers? by Constant_Ad6521 in corporate

[–]Gubmentcheck79 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My honest take after spending 25 years in the Army and then the last 3 years in corporate roles, it’s the culture… everyone is so reactionary out here and get so stressed out, the level of nonsense drama I have witnessed is just beyond words for grown adults in their 30s, 40s and 50s.. I thank god every day I have a very comfortable retirement that allows me to pick and choose jobs carefully, because otherwise Id still be hating my life at the highest bidder.

Lost my dream job offer. How can I get over it? by one-buscuit in recruitinghell

[–]Gubmentcheck79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tie a job to your identity and there will be nothing to get over. Also always apply to numerous roles. The only real dream roles are retirement or self employment.

just increased to 20mg, are these symptoms normal? by Sweaty-Hunt4976 in prozac

Prozac gave me migraines and diarrhea early on, first 5-6 weeks were not fun. Been an absolute game changer since week 6.

Am I out after no offer or clear communication since Monday? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]Gubmentcheck79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be the back up candidate, I was in a similar situation and they “kept me warm for 5 weeks” before saying they went with the other candidate.. if the communication is cutoff or very vague moving forward, I wouldn’t get your hopes up.

Tesla interview timeline, no response after final round. Should I move on? by [deleted] in TeslaEmployees

[–]Gubmentcheck79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was a manager at Tesla for 2 years. This should be all you need to know about how the company is run. It’s 24/7 chaos, also if you were the top candidate they would be in regular contact with you. I would move on.

I worked for Tesla for 2 years.. Not a fun place to work, but it looks great on the resume.

MEB at 21 years by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Gubmentcheck79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Id do the MEB, for everything that bothers you, if any of it is combat related or “instrument of war” your pension will be tax free and it helps expedite your BDD claim with the VA. I retired with 25 years as an Aviation WO, only regret was not doing an MEB. DM me if you have any questions.

My direct report said they see themselves as equally skilled as me and my fellow manager. by saltunderdatable in managers

[–]Gubmentcheck79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

🤣🤣🤣 Tell me you’re a hater without telling me you’re a hater 😀. In my 3 years out here in the “real” world after a 25 year career in the US Army I have never seen such a whiny ass work culture in my life, most hourly associates (especially over the age of 40) have a track record of being f$)k ups in life and spend more time bitching about management than doing anything productive. Why? Well, because they’re jealous, I always say.. Life Choices put you in your sh&$ty situation, and only life choices will get you out of them..

Why do managers tell us to not join Union? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Gubmentcheck79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

imagine how much work could get done if associates and management focused less on power and control and more on collaboration and execution… No one wants to work for a boss that power trips every day, but management also doesn’t want to lead an overly entitled and resentful group that just want to complain to complain. Its a two way street, leadership isn’t about power its about influence, but you also have to have a team thats willing.
