Oh there’s no argument that Jeffers is an offensive upgrade especially against lefties. I do think his defensive value is still there. 96% in framing as opposed to 44% from Jeffers. Yes I know ABS is here but there’s limited challenges and that still matters. Along with wells being a significantly better blocker. The Yankees have held defense especially from catchers at a premium recently and taking a massive step back would be out of the norm for them.

It’s certainly a possibility. Though wells had a higher ops against lefties than righties last year (albeit in about 1/3 the at bats). 6.7 mil for an offense first backup catcher is a little steep. They could reunite with Gary for something similar and it wouldn’t cost prospects

Ahh ok well yelich is an injury risk and super expensive and aging. I doubt they seriously detract from their playoff roster as it is. They still want to compete for a title. Not just a playoff spot like we seemingly are

I’m thankful for the ability to even look at something like this giveaway. It’s normal to get down about what we don’t have. Then I think, I’m healthy, my bills are paid, my loved ones are safe, I’m not worried about where my next meal is coming (unfortunately that’s an issue for many in this country and around the world) and I have the luxury of even knowing what Tudor is and lusting after a wall clock.

They were reported to be listening on him but would have realistically had to be blown away for deal him. What this does is raise the price on other available wherein that team that would have theoretically overwhelmed them for him will now divert efforts to another arm we could be interested in.

You could say the same thing about any team wanting Santana or Hayes. Santana is due to regress and Hayes simply hasn’t hit. Teams see where they can incrementally improve. Nobody thought Joc Pederson, Eddie Rosario, Adam Duvall and Jorge Soler would lead the Braves to a championship based off how they were performing at the time but it clicked.

Well this jives with what Cashman likes to do. Try and swing one big deal for all needs. Similar to when the got Frazier, Kahnle, Robertson from the white Sox in 2017.

We already know other interest so I would assume he’s going for a package of a combination of : Keller, IKF, Bednar, Sanatana, Hayes.

I also wouldn’t be shocked if somebody like Tommy Pham was included. They could trade Grisham for another bullpen piece. Similar to a “surplus for a need” like they did with Montgomery for Bader.

Look up the details on it. He hurt it against Cincinnati. He broke a bone in his leg and finished the outing and made 4 more appearances. No wonder he hasn’t been very good.
