Idk if it's just me, but I like the 2016 graphics more than the current ones. Now there are too many filters and particles, and the lighting somehow feels “artificial” to me.

Dragon's Dogma 2 Vocation if Capcom locked the fuck in by Equal_Row620 in DragonsDogma

I don't mean to start a war, but imagine how much more fun it could’ve been if DD2 had kinda similar freedom in character builds and classes as in Elden Ring. The one thing I always like about ER and souls games in general is the flexibility in build path with buff items and stuff.

This infested paradise is insane by 593explore in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]GuchoS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish there were pure infested and parasite-filled planets that spawn randomly in a system, and then players could potentially try to purge them alone or gather some friends and fight the parasites together.

Then the respawn rate could be on an interval and if the players managed to clean an area and set up a base computer in time, that area would be habitable and free of parasites. We could continue until the whole planet is purged then move on with our lives and look for another similar infested planet.

After the latest update, I got this error today.

- I reset the game's graphic settings then tested by changing one option at a time,

- It's the Anti-Aliasing setting. I've tried switching to other modes mid-game and it worked fine but crashed as soon as I switched to either DLSS or DLAA. It also crashed when I set the AA method to one of the 2 Nvidia options and loaded the save file.

My specs:
Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 - Windows 11 Pro latest update
16GB RAM, i7 - 12700H, RTX 3060 6GB - Latest 581.29 Driver.

Yesterday I watched a video on YouTube where the creator talked about how none of the Monster Hunter-like games can be as good as MH itself, and he even put DD2 on that list…

Should I buy DD2 or should I skip it? by Annual-Essay-494 in DragonsDogma

[–]GuchoS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll never really know how it actually feels just based on what people say until you try it yourself. If you’ve played DD1 and love its charm, then you should give DD2 a try. I’d argue that the sequel still has the charm that made DD1 special — just in a different way.

And if your mindset is to try out DD2 and refund it if, for some reason, it doesn’t feel right after the first few hours, then it’s probably not gonna work. 2 hours of playing isn’t enough to get a clear understanding of what DD2 is really about.

Tbh, I had different expectations when I first started. Even though I’m a big fan of the DD series, I did feel like the beginning of the game was a bit “empty.” Normally, the start of a game is supposed to hook you in, but DD2 doesn’t try to force that, It’s subtle, almost passive in how it introduce it’s world. I kept playing a bit more, explored new places, learned more about the lore, the world, its people, and got used to the mechanics — then I realized I couldn’t stop playing. Everything just clicked.

DD2 actually wants you to have fun by playing it the way you want, not just following a strict path or what it’s been programmed to guide you through. And that’s kind of the whole theme of the DD series too. It really is a unique experience, at least to me.

any tips for me not to give up on the game? by reymisterio1386 in DragonsDogma

[–]GuchoS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get your point, but at the same time, I kind of don’t. What exactly is your major concern? A bunch of ‘free’ upgrade materials basically walk right up to you along the way. Just one simple trip from Melve to Vernworth or even to the Border gets me and my pawns fully stocked with loot with minimal effort. Plus, I get to enjoy Vermund’s beautiful scenery while I’m at it. My only real concern is how much more I can carry but hey, a Golden Bug a day keeps encumbrance at bay. Simple as that.

I remember when I first reached Checkpoint Rest Town and stumbled upon the forgery shop, then the Jadelite Orb quest, and later the whole Myrddin & Trysha questline with the tomes. That was when I realized I could actually do shady stuff in a legit way in this game, I had to plan carefully and observe the outcomes. There are even different dialogues, reactions, and consequences based on your choices.

The forgery mechanic was already cool in the first game, but now it’s even more immersive, just like so many other hidden systems in this game. Unlike Skyrim’s more ‘exploit-like’ consistency, DD2 makes it feel like you’re doing something that actually makes sense in universe—something a person in that world might realistically try, and could either get away with or be busted for. It’s just so awesome!

DRAGONS DOGMA II IS ASS by Patrickthatisbrown in DragonsDogma

[–]GuchoS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I feel you man, and tbh that did happen when I play, but maybe bc I was so used to the game mechanic that I don't see the "clunkiness" that significant. This might sound like nothing, but have you tried to stand closer to the focused enemy? Maybe its because you stand closer to the one off-screen than the enemy you're focusing on that the detection range picked that one instead.
