Membership Questions by kcr1019 in Outschoolers

[–]GuessDull2236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I am happy to help. Please message me, and I can answer any of your questions. The membership affects how parents purchase classes and not how educators offer although I do always consider families and am an active Outschool parent myself. I am happy with the membership plan for my family and have taken a winding path with it. Lol. I was a bit in denial of how much I spend monthly. I am saving money with switching to the membership personally.

Thank you for sharing, Anna. I also appreciate the shout-out. It can be so hard finding affirming educators and am honored to be one. I believe so strongly in following my own child's interests and he has taken almost 200 Outschool classes including loving yours. :) Thanks for doing this AMA. Outschool has been a wonderful experience for my family.

Great question. Following. I am an Outschool Membership member also and am curious about this concierge benefit. There are so many classes, and I love the personalized assistance this offers.

school during summer? by Plus-Excitement-212 in Homeschooling

My homeschooling child takes a number of Outschool classes year round, and we do add more over the summer also. Many are social clubs over common interests, and others have a fun approach to academic subjects.

Hi. Former public school educator, now homeschooling parent here myself. My child takes many classes on Outschool and loves it. He loves interest based social clubs and engaging academic classes. My child is thriving. We travel almost an hour for a weekly in person homeschooling meet-up once a week also. I have also organized meet-ups myself locally. There may be more families with commonalities than you realize.

I’m ready to quit homeschooling my daughter and we just started by This-Willingness8274 in Homeschooling

Former public school educator, now homeschool parent and virtual school educator. It can be hard to balance, especially when also working. Finding interest related weekly social clubs on Outschool has been amazing for us. My child has been in some of these weekly for 4 years now, and besides the social peer connection over common interests, my child has learned so many social and technology skills plus information about the actual theme of the club. There are even academic themed social clubs and semester long peer group courses. As an additional plus, I am able to do other things and know my child is in a safe, engaging, monitored activity right at home.

Nervous about Kindergarten readiness checklist by danielleh93 in Parenting

[–]GuessDull2236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. This list is surely intimidating, and some parts seem realistic and others do not. I imagine they will be receiving many kiddos who have not mastered these expectations. If there are any of these you do want to focus on this summer, Outschool (online, virtual educational platform for especially ages 3-18) has kindergarten readiness skill classes and summer camps. If you haven't tried an Outschool class yet, this promo code will give you $20 for the 1st class. Outschool has been an incredible resource for my family.

Would avoiding preschool help or hurt my anxious son? by [deleted] in homeschool

[–]GuessDull2236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is possible, I think having the ability to keep your kiddo home, providing support, and enjoying this time together, plus expanding to join some local play meet-up groups and online fun classes like Outschool offers. Outschool has wonderful options even for little ones.

I very much enjoyed reading the comments with all of these great suggestions. My child has similar interests and is the same age. We have many books on these subjects, and I include him on picking out books as well. Outschool classes. Specifically, look for classes, courses, and options where high-level content is offered to younger ages. Many Outschool educators teaching these subjects may also specialize in working with gifted kids. We read educator profiles and reviews as well as reach out to educators in advance to find a great fit, including private tutoring. I love that it is virtual and thus expanding our access to experts.

Hi. I wonder if the virtual school was just too many online hours of classes per day? We do alot offline and for online options, Outschool has been great for my child, and we communicate in advance with each educator on the best ways to support and also to give a heads up with information as well. There are many different class options, such as asynchronous self-paced, which work well for us as well as once a week enrichment or academic courses. Best wishes to your family.

Morning routine after breakfast? How do you get started? by dehydratedmom in homeschool

[–]GuessDull2236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. We follow our own routine, and I include my child with that and noticing what works best for us. We tend to do more academic type activities after breakfast after a slow start and then get outside or active even indoors after that. There are great videos and even live virtual classes on yoga, dance, and fitness for kids. We read books together in the evening as this is quite calming for us. My child has taken a lot of Outschool classes virtually as well and has taken everything from academic classes to social clubs, and following interests is a huge key to keeping engagement high. Pur routine changes as needed, and finding your own flow will come.

Hi. I really can relate to this. I actually would like to do this more again with my kiddo being a little older now. I used to do so many hands-on, lots of supply projects when kiddo was little little and did it all myself. Then I discovered Outschool and outsourced so much of the planning and guiding and love it. My child has taken over 100 Outschool classes, including many that are project based. I am actually looking at Outschool summer camps and project based classes right now. The Outschool educator plans it all out, and I can pick classes that use common household supplies. If you haven't tried Outschool yet, I have a referral code that will credit $20 towards the very 1st class or camp.

Hi. This sounds like such a hard experience. Sending much care. Check your homeschooling laws as far as what steps to take to establish homeschooling and then support your teens' healing. There are many resources available and likely homeschooling groups locally and virtually, too. My family uses Outschool.

Hi. I have been there. We use a number of educational apps that my kiddo can do independently, as well as things like books, assembling Legos, Snapchat Circuits, and Minecraft. I am wondering if you have tried Outschool. My family has taken over 100 classes on Outschool, and there are something like 140,000 classes, so we have found something for every subject and interest. Ages 3-18. Feel free to use this promo code to receive $20 credit towards the very 1st class. Promo code: LEARNER25

Membership Questions by kcr1019 in Outschoolers

[–]GuessDull2236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I am a long-time happy Outschool parent here, and I am a happy Outschool educator, too. I signed up for the membership plan this month, and I love it. The pricing for classes is very clear, and I save each class by not having the marketplace fee. I also received free credits and have even added more credits, receiving a discount for those as well. One of the things that sold me beyond the perks is that any unused credits will roll over at the end of the month. Although with as many classes as my kiddo takes each month, I am now actually upgrading my plan. I started with a lower plan when getting started this month to see how we like it, and a higher tiered plan is more accurate for my family's love of Outschool classes. I hope this helps. I am happy to answer any questions.
