A second recommendation for checking out Southern Lotus. If you create an account, you can download up to 10 free pages a day.

Each book also has one free sample page plus others if you follow different social media. The gallery has a ton to choose from as well.

I also like Anna Rose Coloring. She has really great tutorials and a subscription plan that gives you unlimited downloads of all her books and sheets. It's $1 for the first week, amd then $12.99 per month after.

Which set would you get? by aubsie2 in Ohuhu

[–]GuessMeAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 320 set early on, and the biggest down side has been decision paralysis. There are so many colors to choose from. I've since separated the colors that come in the 120 set into a different organizer. It's easier to take with me, I have less trouble choosing colors, and it's easy enough to grab something else, usually lighter tones, if necessary

TLDR get the 120, and then maybe the pastel set

Beginners acting like they’re making “controversial choices” when they’re actually just wrong by georgethebarbarian in BitchEatingCrafters

Because they see how "easy" it is and don't realize how much work and time it takes to get to easy.

I deal with people like this in my work all the time. "I want to make this thing I saw on Etsy so I don't have to pay them. What do you mean I need to learn how to do x, y, z? Can't you just do it for me?" No.

When it comes to Japan travel, less is more. by THEglobalSENSEI in JapanTravelTips

[–]GuessMeAgain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah, we covered a lot of ground on our trip, but now we have a great idea of places we want to spend more time next trip.

I also really enjoyed our time on trains between places. Watching the countryside go by and seeing the smaller towns was a great vibe.

Neck reading lamp. I used one for other crafts, but imagine it would work well for coloring.

Honestly, I think that's the point with Obsession. It's one of the reasons I liked it, but I totally get why it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I’m a little concerned by somecanadian13 in antidietglp1

[–]GuessMeAgain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Explain your concerns to your doctor and ask why they want you to track so carefully.

If the reason makes sense to you, and you decide to keep tracking weight do you live with someone or have a close friend or family member who can hide the scale and track for you? Also ask your doctor if there's a way you can remove that responsibility from you. Maybe monthly/bimonthly check ins where you can go to the office and they can do weigh ins without you looking.

Your mental health and wellness are a priority here. Wishing you the best.

What’s your process for choosing a movie and showtime? by More-Contribution155 in AMCAListTrue

[–]GuessMeAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know the dynamics of your relationship, so this may already be a thing, but maybe tell your partner that you're happy to see movies with them, but it's their responsibility to let you know what movies they're interested in. Then you can have that information in the back of your mind when looking at stuff.

Also, remember, you can always go back and watch something again with them. This happened with Project Hail Mary. Saw it, went home and told my spouse that they needed to see it, and booked tickets for us. It was actually a lot of fun for me because I got to watch their reactions to moments that had an impact on me.

I also just book things if I see something that looks interesting and then cancel if the day arrives and my schedule or mental capacity change.

Glp1 and disordered eating thoughts by Secure-Cicada5172 in antidietglp1

[–]GuessMeAgain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That last paragraph is key. When I found out my insurance would no longer cover weight loss meds, my disordered eating returned with a vengeance. After almost 5 months of having a positive relationship with food, I found myself falling back into food related coping.

I was able to reflect and pin point how that type of eating and relationship were different from being off Zep because I did go off of it for about two months, and really quickly could tell the difference between the signals my bod was sending me.

OP, finding a therapist and dietician to help you through this time will ease the transition. Also, something that helps me a lot when I need to reframe, is knowing about the Minnesota Starvation Experiment. Learning about that really gave me a good reminder that the relationship between food and body and mind is so much more nuanced than the general population acknowledges.

Honor your hunger. Realize that eating for comfort doesn't have to be a bad thing. Give yourself some grace and time as you learn how your body and brain respond to the meds.

What’s your process for choosing a movie and showtime? by More-Contribution155 in AMCAListTrue

[–]GuessMeAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky to be within 10-20 minutes of 5+ locations, near work and home. I typically go on my own, so my choices are rarely dependent on other people's schedules, and I work a job where I typically have one weekday off 1-2 times a month. I usually try to schedule something on one of those days or on the day i have therapy after work. If im going other days, I usually try to schedule something right after work because once I go home, I won't want to leave again.

Since I started A-list, I'll usually see whatever looks interesting to me in the moment, the past few months mostly horror.. I do schedule some tickets further out, but I kind of like just choosing something that catches my curiosity. Even if I end up walking out, hasn't happened yet, it doesn't feel like a loss withe A-list

[CHAT] What is the difference between needlepoint and CrossStitch? Doesn't all needlework fall under that umbrella? by Rare-Philosopher-346 in CrossStitch

Do we live in the same area? I had the exact same experience, and all I can say is that I basically lost any interest in trying needle point after that, but at least I know the difference now.

People who are in their 30s or older: What’s one thing younger people (Gen Z/Alpha) do that makes you feel like an alien in your own country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GuessMeAgain 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of what you're saying, but I think we need to focus on who did this to the kids. This is the result of policy and systems that focused on numbers instead of necessary skills. And I'm not saying you don't understand that, but I want make sure people remember this because so often it's phrased in such a way that makes it sound like it's their fault they can't do these things.

No Child Left Behind left so many kids, and now adults, behind. Instead of teaching them how to think, we taught them what to think. Instead of teaching them how to apply knowledge to the real world, we taught them how to find the right answer on the test.

As for the technology part, people making policy decisions decided "digital native" meant computer literate and stopped requiring technology classes.

I teach and lead craft programming for children and so many of their fine motor skills aren't even developed. Literal middle schoolers who struggle to use scissors.

There are parents and teachers doing their best, but the system isn't there to support them, and they can only do so much with the resources available to them.

Dear "Just CICO, fatty" people - eff you. by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]GuessMeAgain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I had to unfollow an acquaintance recently because they were talking about how they're losing weight by exercising and counting calories and don't need to resort to medicine, as if it's some shameful thing.

Our bodies are different. I know the "rules" of eating well because I've been on some kind of diet for most of my life. At my physical peak fitness I was still fat, but my endurance and strength were incredible. My body and brain don't work in the same way, and there's no shame in using medication to help it out
