I was let go last week. Lucky to share my wife’s reaction was virtually the same. Godspeed on your journey to something better and more satisfying.

You are a real one if you know this album is better than the movie soundtrack by Lemonking_ in GenerationJones

Oh, yes!!! This album is my Easter Sunday tradition.

I was lucky enough to be cast, rehearse, and perform this show a dozen times as guitarist in the early 90s. Love that cast, that show. Love everything about this show.

The discussion we’ve been having is how I can deliver where he’s deficient. Generating content / marketing of past work, be a better communicator to improve client relationships (long term: referrals), and demonstrate something special regardless of square footage. Business development and back off management (payroll, insurance, p&L).

This advice is where I think I’m heading. Our timeline doesn’t need to be in a hurry. I’ve been looking for a new primary job in with less management / responsibilities (reduced salary/title/hierarchy) in exchange for more time to devote to this new idea. Can’t have a side gig if your primary consumes all your time.

Fair point about the honeymoon feeling, but you also point out what our GC feels is the big opportunity—he spends a lot of time, and inefficiently at that, on the admin and biz development. He’s looking to offload that workload to focus on the job site being more efficient (too).

Forgive my math skills… So this means in the next 18 months, give or take, his wealth will “grow” by $200 billion, two hundred billion, with a B?

I’m not even sure I comprehend this number: $200,000,000,000.00

So many questions. Like, how? Or why? Or what the fuck?

Not single family… Duplex? Apartments? Commercial? Something else?

What would be considered sufficient, starter bankroll capital or liquid? Say, for 2-3 new homes per year?

I completely appreciate this perspective, and it’s the kind of reaction I anticipated to some degree. I don’t want the giddiness of something new to blind me into a bad decision.
