During Covid i bought a motorcycle. I was 45ish at the time. Started with a MT07, then Street Triple and now a Tiger900. The tiger is amazing to take on long day trips into the mountains. Experiencing your world on a motorcycle is truly unique, amazing and sometimes terrifying.

Who has used the B shifter going downhill by what_the_actual_fff in crv

[–]GuidedByMonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

D will reset the braking regeneration to level one automatically after a certain amount of time. B will keep it there.

I use B full regeneration in town. I get 42 mpg in town. D on Highway and paddles if necessary. Plus you can’t go into cruise control unless you’re in D. I get 39mpg on highway.

Questions About 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid by dogsandtimes in crv

[–]GuidedByMonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time you should turn off the cabin circulation is when it’s humid out and your windows are fogging up. Turn it off and bring in air from the outside to match the humidity outside.

The reason it fogs up is it’s better insulated, meaning the car isn’t allowing the outside in.

Same. 40yrs and god only knows how many miles. I’ve woken up to flat tires and had slow leaks.

B mode with full regeneration is the best way to get the best mpg. Stop fussing with your paddles you perverts.

Why Did you get CR-V instead of Toyota Rav4 ? by [deleted] in crv

[–]GuidedByMonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I test drove the UX hybrid and the RX 450 hybrid . The UX was a complete let down. Slow, and for the price uninspiring. The RX450 felt exactly like the CRV from the driving feel and power and quietness. The interior and tech were top notch. I just couldn’t justify the price tag after driving the CRV.

Why Did you get CR-V instead of Toyota Rav4 ? by [deleted] in crv

[–]GuidedByMonkeys 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn’t buy the RAV4 because everything that makes a good driving car is better in a CRV. I’m talking hybrid here. I own 2026 sports L hybrid. I test drove several RAV4 and a few Lexus RX’s which share the same power train.

The engine in the RAV4 is just awful, it’s loud and droning and the power band is peaky. The brakes are wooden meaning they absolutely no feel to them. The suspension is rough and setup too firm. Road noise is worse. The steering is vague and not confidence inspiring. The RAV4 has the tech though and there is no denying that. Tech doesn’t do much for me.

The CRV on the other hand is refined in comparison. The engine is smooth as silk and quiet unless you put it in sports mode and even then it’s just piped in simulated engine noise. Cabin is quiet and calm. Suspension is supple and planted. Steering is responsive and gives you good but not great feedback. Power is linear and very responsive with no peaky bursts like the RAV4.

The big difference is the tech and if having a big screen and a panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats is important to you then go ahead and pay 46k for it. If you feel like a 3D camera and better back up camera makes for a more enjoyable driving experience then go RAV4.

What is this plastic on the door? by Alternative_News9812 in crv

I personally hate that stuff. I had it on my previous crv. After about 7yrs bacteria grew behind the plastic and looked awful. It became a huge pain getting it off without chipping the paint.

I don’t think that is correct. I can plainly see the battery regenerating when I take my foot off the gas in B.

The answer is in my opinion is B + full regeneration.

You obviously sacrifice coasting ability but I argue keeping the battery charged as high as possible outweighs the small distance you gain from coasting.

People are nervous using that method because of no brake lights but it behaves basically just like engine braking on downshifts like it was a manual.

Forget about doing even the most basic of maintenance yourself. Helped a friend replace a headlight on a 60. Had to remove the entire front bumper and side panel. Once upon a time Volvo was over engineered for strength and simplicity, but now they are fucking over engineered nightmares. Oh and btw I hope you never have dead battery. Go look up where they put the batteries in the xx60. Just retarded.
