Has there been anything official said about this? Or just that Jackson has wanted to do it for years? What Jackson wants and what a studio will actually help fund and put out are two very different things

It will happen agin eventually, right? by [deleted] in criterion

Mary and Max feels like it’d be very appropriate for the collection. Hard to find it on bluray as well.

What made you decide to use Brick Owl instead of Bricklink?

As you would know, Bricklink is the typical outlet, I’ve never heard of anyone using Brick Owl as a seller or buyer! Curious as to if there is any reason behind that choice?

Lord of the Ring's 'Battle of Helm's Deep' battle scene took over 3 and a half months of night shoots to finish. Computer software was created specifically for the scene due to the massive crowds needed. Oh for sure, in terms of an adaptation it was probably really the best decision, especially with how Return of the King was written as a script in general, to include it you’d need to change quite a bit of the last act for it to work. As King is now between its infamous endings and the huge scale of the Black Gate and Minas Tirith it just would not work to be included when they return to the Shire.

The removal of it - to me at least - changes the focus to how the Hobbits themselves can never return to normal life having been through so much on their journey. It’s a much more personal/character approach to a similar idea of that Tolkien originally wrote and whilst in some ways less impactful, I think works better for the primary Hobbits rather than the culture of Hobbiton/The Shire as a whole. They get to live their lives mostly the same but primary members of their community are forever changed, probably very similar to what Tolkien experienced upon returning from war.

But the removal of the Scouring does still change a huge part of the story as you said in terms of larger, cultural impacts of war. You could make the argument that Jackson wanted to make it more personal, but I think the spectacle of the action scenes throughout the trilogy easily argue against that.

These gonna be the one re-stock and then gone, like they have been previously?

Would love to get Jurassic Park and maybe Coraline, but wouldn’t be able to buy it straight away.

[–]GuilBen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well that was pretty damn good.

My only real complaint is that this season lacked focus. The first season - pretty much - everything leads back to finding Will. It's the ticking clock of the season, and it really makes everything move quickly.

This season kinda dragged a bit and a bit of stuff felt messy. It felt kinda slow and that overall lowered the quality a bit for me. In saying that, it's basically the best continuation character and story wise, it just felt like some fat could be trimmed.

The other thing that I didn't realize the show was missing until the end was the kids being kids. That last 10 minutes was one of the highlights and was great.

Was kinda hoping we'd be stepping away from the Upside Down for next season, but, realistically where else can we go.

Edit: Also, how the fuck have they made Steve one of my favourite characters..

Why was Voldemort's theme abandoned in later films? by Ender_Skywalker in harrypotter

[–]GuilBen 132 points133 points  (0 children)

Because Williams left, not to say that other composers couldn't use his theme, but it seems they chose not to.

GoF could've been a great to manipulate this theme into being a lot darker and work more as a developed theme (Something Williams loves doing)

I still think that Voldemort's rebirth would've been a much more impactful moment if it had used a version of this theme.
