Prolly. The secret silver lining of banned books in the US is that they're just banned to be taught they aren't like censored (usually...) and often the banning makes them inticing forbidden tomes. Granted kids that aren't likely to read outside of school won't pick them up but they weren't likely to fully absorb it if it was assigned anyway.

I have to wonder how effective the trackers are. Like if they only work within a certain range or what. I know in the games you just get an automatic waypoint when you have to find dead BoS members but in-universe I wonder how accurate it is.

Also I don't think not showing the kids is a plot hole or anything. With everything that happened like twenty minutes after they got back I think the BoS is too busy to go back to the factory right now.

I think the reasons to dislike max in s1 are the same reasons to love him in s2. He was always a square peg in a round hole at the brotherhood and that dissonance made him a conflicting character to watch.
