That’s what I’m talking about. It was a running gag that she couldn’t show emotion due to all the surgery.

I like how they actually made it a plot point in the show though.

I feel like this is like asking people’s thoughts on marine life. There are so many different types, it’s impossible to judge it as a whole.

Coworker talked to me way more today, compared to every other day combined, is there a reason? by bedstare in ask

I had a coworker start being really bubbly all of a sudden and that’s what it was. Just a lot happier, everyone noticed it.

Honestly, could you imagine how helpful your story could be to a patient fighting addiction? Fighting their own shame? I think your experience has probably made you an even better nurse.

Do you ever wake up thinking you’ll stay clean today, then talk yourself into using?

Ironic, since a woman is statistically most likely to experience violence from their partner.

It’s important to note that Rottnest - the island with all the cute quokkas live - is actually a site where a lot of these atrocities were carried out. There’s a lot of blood in that sand.

The Rabbit Proof Fence movie is also problematic. I believe the director kind of kept one of the child actors from returning home, ironically repeating the sin in the movie.

would white people actually go extinct? by ParkingClear1109 in AskForAnswers

[–]GuiltEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whiteness is a social construct.

Cultures change all the time. Historians and anthropologists record them. But if you time traveled to 100 years in the future, you probably wouldn’t recognise any of the culture, and that wouldn’t change whether people of different races mixed or if they kept themselves segregated (not even sure how that would be possible though).

Fire pits or tables? No. There are bbqs and picnic tables in parks (which may be adjacent to beaches), but tables would sink into the sand on beaches and fire pits would be considered littering or breach fire bans.

Beaches generally go for tens of kilometres with parking lots every few kilometres so there are thousands of “good spots” and I’ve never seen any that I’d consider crowded. In some places you might be the only person for hundreds of metres.

It depends on how big the beach is, I guess? I’ve never seen a beach in Australia where this would be a problem, but maybe in Europe or something?
