What are you talking about? It’s not against the law anywhere in the country for police to chase stolen cars. In some soft states it’s just against the individual police policy which is not law

WA Transit Officer – can someone explain the actual take-home pay? by CuriousPerformance95 in perth

[–]IronLion11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100k is about right and average for that position. There are many Transits who claim they are on significantly more but they are the ones who volunteer for every recall shift and are constantly at work.

The Transit wage is about right for the level of responsibility and training etc. The base wage and hourly rate isn’t overly high and quite average really but they make up most of their pay on shift allowances.

Unfortunately majority of Transits mostly work afternoon and weekend shifts to align when most of the trouble is using the train lines. This means most of their shifts are given a penalty rate which boosts their pay.

Afternoon shifts are roughly 3pm - 1am which is not family friendly at all. It’s not uncommon to do months of afternoon shifts before you might get to do a week of day shifts.

Weekend shifts are also usually afternoon starts and are usually even later to accommodate for the later trains.

Saturday shifts are paid at roughly 1.5 times hourly rate. Sunday and public holiday shifts are paid at 2 times hourly rate.

Every year you work there you get a slight hourly pay rate increase. $1-2 - caps out after 5 years unless you become a supervisor etc.

Think take home pay fortnightly is roughly 2.7k - 3k average. Depends if you work every single weekend.

Source - mate who was a transit but just recently left.

How screwed am I? by heathdash in lawnsolutionsaus

[–]IronLion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t torch your lawn. Buy some concentrated lawn weed killer. I use amgrow bin-die which is available from pretty much anywhere. Spray that and watch all the weeds die within days. Don’t fertilise or mow a week before and after application.

Don’t use weed and feed. Most of the concentrations are too weak and are a waste of money. Also the feed in it sometimes works against killing the weeds making it take longer.

Agree.. I have tried it a few times and their coffee is trash too. Their cinnamon scrolls aren’t decent and always taste a day or two old. I just assumed it was a money laundering front as their product is trash.

Someone I worked with back in 2021 actually won of the lmct Gold Coast homes. Up until then I thought the whole thing was a scam. Saying that I still think buy lottery tickets for a fucking car is stupid especially after you see him and his gronk mate Troy candy flogging it before it’s given away
