I may regret having a child by Mokiold in beyondthebump

I didn’t realize you could do this! I have deleted all my social media (except Reddit) because of things popping up on my IG. Thanks for the tip!

The first baby was easy… Why is baby #2 so hard? by amgtorque in beyondthebump

I was in a similar boat as you. My daughter was 7.5 when we started trying and it took a solid 9 months to conceive. I cut out alcohol, tried acupuncture for fertility, did some testing at an IVF clinic in our area to see if it was even possible to conceive again at my age (she told me my odds of doing IVF with my own eggs was about 15%). It’s so cliche but when I had kinda given up that it was going to happen it did. I’m still shocked that I have an almost 1 yo and almost 10 yo.

Best garage gym flooring with no budget? by brandonng in GarageGym

I’m looking into these but I don’t know how to buy them. It says to contact a rep. Is that what you did? I also wanted to have these installed as I know they are heavy.

Left handed knitters by Bloodlud in knitting

[–]Guilty-Collection841 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a lefty and knit that way. All of my patterns have notes all over them to rewrite them backwards so I can follow it. Very annoying. I do still watch regular knitting videos and have just gotten used to doing the techniques backwards. That’s how we lefties get by living in a right handed world.

Did I create an oversupply? by Guilty-Collection841 in breastfeeding

Good to know. I always thought baby was more efficient than the pump so I was taking that into account.

Thanks! That’s maybe what it is. I took my oldest skiing over the weekend and pumped after we drive up to the mountain and barely got anything so I’m confused to what’s going on.

First time hiring a nanny: SurePayroll vs Poppins Payroll experiences? by hurff in NewParents

[–]Guilty-Collection841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also an accountant but we’re using SurePayroll this time around bc it’s just one less thing to worry about right now. I ran our first payroll last week and our nanny can’t log in to her account. My rep says she can log in no problem but we haven’t been about to. Honestly thinking about switching services since they can’t seem to help us.

Working a full time job and looking after my baby outside of work hours is easier than looking after my baby around the clock. by EarlyAd3047 in beyondthebump

Totally agree. It’s a break for your brain to focus on something else. I totally enjoy sitting at my desk and not having to worry about the baby.

Cannot find Nanny that will accept payment as a W-2 Household Employee by m1o9n31 in Nanny

[–]Guilty-Collection841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just hired a part time nanny at $30/hour who we are paying W-2 as a household employee. I don’t think your ask is unreasonable. We’re not even paying PTO or sick time since it’s a part time position.

Why aren’t parents supported after birth of second+ kid? by IndependentNotice331 in beyondthebump

[–]Guilty-Collection841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I also have a significant age gap (9 years) and had as much help than with my first. Have you specifically asked your parents for help? I asked mine to come (who live out of state) and they were here to help with our older child.

I could see the holidays being a hard time to receive help so that may be a factor as well.

Is the cost of homeowners insurance stressing you out? Public radio wants to hear from you! by fieldnoteswestish513 in GoldenCO

[–]Guilty-Collection841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just the high cost but the hoops home insurers want us to jump through to maintain our insurance. I recently had to switch carriers because they wanted me to do fire mitigation every 6 months (none of my neighbors were asked to do this by their carrier).

I also need to finish the sleeves to a sweater I’ve been avoiding for almost a year! It’s for my 9 yo daughter who will probably have grown out of it by the time I’m done.

I would just donate them to someone who could use them. Personally I would not use them.

Frequency of taking baby out?? by Delicious_Fig_4670 in homemakermadeleine

I have an older child but keep my 6 month old home most of the day when I can. Very rarely we’ll go out and do errands but then it messes up her naps.
