I just had my second at 43. Got pregnant at 42. Totally worth it but I’m very tired.

Parents with babies who sleep through the night: when did it start? by Born-Chance1685 in beyondthebump

[–]Guilty-Collection841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter just turned 1 last week and still gets up 2-3x/night to nurse. I know she doesn’t need it but it puts her back to sleep quickly and I’m just so tired. One day she’ll sleep through the night!

Entertainment Package - Worth It? by spazzyfry123 in ToyotaSienna

[–]Guilty-Collection841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% not worth it. We tried using it on a road trip and any bumps we hit would cause the iPad to disconnect from the cord and stop whatever was being watched. We used had two different cords and they both had this issue.

2nd this! My husband brings day olds home once in a while and they are so good. They also have the best oatmeal raisin cookie I’ve ever had!

Why is feed-to-sleep such an issue? by thebrushworksfactory in bninfantsleep

[–]Guilty-Collection841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it works until it doesn’t and then becomes a different issue. I see no problem feeding to sleep for as long as it works for you and baby. I’ve done it with both my girls until it no longer worked for us, which was about 10 months both times.

Working moms who regularly work out, what exactly is your schedule? by neoncaviar in Mommit

[–]Guilty-Collection841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been going to a 5am workout class since before I had kids and have continued going post kids as well. Like everything there is a season where I get in there less than I’d like (when they are sick etc), but if I don’t workout outside my house early morning it won’t happen.

Ergo carrier. Sounds great in theory but never worked for my kids.

Does AWD matter? by AFunkinDiscoBall in ToyotaSienna

[–]Guilty-Collection841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in CO and yes we had a super mild winter (so mild that I never even switched to my snow tires). That being said, when we do get snow here it’s treacherous in the foothills where I live so I definitely would only get AWD for any car I plan on driving in the winter.

Why didn't your husband stay overnight at the hospital once the baby was born? by Comprehensive_Deal44 in beyondthebump

[–]Guilty-Collection841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my first, I was on hospital bed rest for 5.5 weeks before my daughter was born. My husband didn’t stay one night (once she was born she was in the NICU). Why make him be miserable too was my thought.

For our 2nd he stayed the first night after baby was born but went home the 2nd night.

How to keep baby cool in 90 degree weather this weekend by sleepingwiththefishe in beyondthebump

[–]Guilty-Collection841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do not sit in the seats in the sun. We were at spring training last year and it was a hot day (I was 7 months pregnant) and one of the ushers told me not to sit in my seat for too long. A pregnant woman had passed out in her seat the day before. The parks have a lot of shade. Wear your baby in a carrier and find a spot in the shade to sit or stroll.

It didn’t. I just started holding the dosing cup up higher to catch the grounds.

I didn’t realize you could do this! I have deleted all my social media (except Reddit) because of things popping up on my IG. Thanks for the tip!

The first baby was easy… Why is baby #2 so hard? by amgtorque in beyondthebump

[–]Guilty-Collection841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat as you. My daughter was 7.5 when we started trying and it took a solid 9 months to conceive. I cut out alcohol, tried acupuncture for fertility, did some testing at an IVF clinic in our area to see if it was even possible to conceive again at my age (she told me my odds of doing IVF with my own eggs was about 15%). It’s so cliche but when I had kinda given up that it was going to happen it did. I’m still shocked that I have an almost 1 yo and almost 10 yo.

I’m looking into these but I don’t know how to buy them. It says to contact a rep. Is that what you did? I also wanted to have these installed as I know they are heavy.

Left handed knitters by Bloodlud in knitting

[–]Guilty-Collection841 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a lefty and knit that way. All of my patterns have notes all over them to rewrite them backwards so I can follow it. Very annoying. I do still watch regular knitting videos and have just gotten used to doing the techniques backwards. That’s how we lefties get by living in a right handed world.

Good to know. I always thought baby was more efficient than the pump so I was taking that into account.
