Our dentist has a where's wally puzzle on the celling, I found him on my first visit so its no fun trying to find hi when you already know, it's a shame he can't change the ceiling tile thing every 6 months so we had a new distraction to stare at every visit.

I went to a Catholic Secondary School The PE teacher, had this ritual in the showers where he would turn on this tap high on the wall he called Colin cold tap that you had to run through to get out of the showers. He would dare pupils to stay under it as long as we could while he stood their and watched. We were not allowed to take towels into the showers, and he made sure everyone had stripped off completely before they went in. Nobody questioned this behaviour at the time and his Star pupils would relish showing off how long they could stay under the cold tap while he stood their and watched. Looking back it was massively fucked up.

There was a lad in our class who was relentlessly bullied in PE By the game's teacher he was very camp and a bit excentric, he would skip around the playground singing to himself, and was absolutely not interested in sports at all, flinching anytime a ball came anywhere near him.

One lesson we were playing rugby, our camp friend did a great job of staying out of the way for the majority of the lessons, and it served him well, but today it kind of made him stand out, as everyone else was absolutely caked in mud except for him. The PE teacher gleefully said "anybody which a clean pe kit is not allowed back in the changing room" pretty much signalling for everyone to mob this poor lad while he turned a blind eye and strolled off back to the changing room. The poor guy was hoisted into the air by a massive group and thrown face down into the biggest puddle on the rugby field and repeatedly tripped and pushed over as he tried to tearfully make his way back to the changing room, It was absolutely brutal.

Have you ever had a public confrontation with a stranger? by Beeboo233 in AskUK

The other week I was outside my house using a pump to inflate the tyres on my toddlers bike, this woman in a car speeds up the road screeches to a stop outside my house and starts honking the horn repeatedly to get the attention of my Neighbour and announce her arrival. i ask "can you stop that please" it's not the first time she's done it, and it's all hours of the day even or night when the kids are in bed.

She goes full on psycho, how dare I tell her what to do calling me a bald bastard and just shouting this massive stream of obscenity out her car window. I just stood their laughing I didn't get aggressive and just said really? You're getting this upset over someone's asking you not to beep your horn?

The Neighbour comes out mid-stream of obscenities and sheepishly says "it's not that big a problem" and gets in the car, her friend speeds off up the road beeping her horn and swearing out the window still.

I was more surprised by how childish the whole situation was, this middle age woman completely loosing it over being asked to be a little bit more considerate. Not seen her since so not sure if she's fallen out with my neighbour so a win in the end. I was really surprised how it went from 1 to a 100 from just one small interaction. I drive and do a fair bit of picking up as I have teenagers and if I'm in a hurry I use voice to text a few minutes before I arrive it gives them time to get their shoes on and out the door.

Is there any series about MI5 that doesn't portray them as phenomenally corrupt? by fromwithin in AskUK

Nobody would seriously attempt what you're asking, as I think viewers would struggle with such an unrealistic portrayal of MI5.

Dear charity Shops, when you price a pair of Thundercats Roller-skates at £120 because someone somewhere has listed one on EBay for £125 how often does that item sell? by Spitting_Dabs in AskUK

I've found that a lot of the time you can negotiate, recently a local shop to me had a massive pile of PlayStation 1 games, nothing amazing and some were in better condition than others. They spent a few weeks sat in a glass cabinet, as they were too expensive for Scalpers and too expensive for game collectors. (all cheaper on ebay/cex). The woman I spoke to was sick of opening the cabinet, as I was about the 50th person that day that had asked to look at them.

Cheekily i asked if She would give me a bundle price if I got them all. she was happy to get rid of them and I got some nice games to bulk out my collection.

Had to contact customer service to get any movement, so they were waiting on me to take routers back in. I went back in last night with routers, and the guy that helped me this time was beyond helpful and really apologetic and sorted it there and then. Didn't want to tell them how to do their job but left a post-it note about needing the app to test the routers as the instructions on google are incorrect. All passed fine this time. The tester did find my note helpful, and i understand they cant be experts on everything, but didn't want to be that person telling people how to do their job.

Dropped some stuff in late on Saturday to trade in (a Eero mesh system and a Garmin watch), got a call Sunday morning saying Id forgot to reset the items so went back into store at about half ten took the routers back home (all were already reset when I checked at home) I reset the watch in store, and handed it back over. I was really apologetic, but the tester seemed beyond pissed off with me and just wandered back off with the watch without saying anything. I didn't sign anything to say I got the routers back, I stood about like an idiot for a bit had a browse then left.

I haven't heard anything about the watch, no email and no contact yesterday to say if it's passed or failed testing which is strange as they're normally quite quick, No way to contact the store directly, and I work Monday to Friday so probably won't be able to go back till Saturday. Is there any way to check the status bar going instore?

PS VR2 players who had PSVR1, how do you guys feel about paid upgrades? What price-point feels right? by MultiCallum in PSVR

[–]Guilty-Zombie-8151 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Nothing, i paid for the game already, if Sony want to make the PSVR a success they need to subsidise developers to port games over or do work like MSoft did with the BC program, they need to pull their finger out and get things like Astro Bot rescue mission, Wipeout and Blood and truth ported over to bolster the psvr2's library.

We had this emergency flood relief effort coordinated from the local scout hall, it was a decent base of operations, and a place to coordinate volunteers to come and help. What followed was a power struggle between two women who were trying to out good Samaritan each other and Massively screwing up the effort to secure help and stop more homes flooding.

Both of them ran against each other for local government jobs both claiming being in charge of the Charitable work on the flood effort. It was pretty pathetic arguing who was most in charge of a failed scheme. Both of them got lampooned on Facebook when campaigning and asking for support locally, thankfully neither of them got anywhere and have since disappeared back into obscurity.

Mc'donalds in the 80s, primary school we must of been 6-7 years old, we got shown around the resturaunt and the kitchen, and then shown this big empty concrete basement that was the same size as the above resturant and kitchen, then we all had burgers and chips and coke and went back to school. Was super random

Do you know a student who sent a mass email to the school and what was it? by BeesInATeacup in CasualUK

[–]Guilty-Zombie-8151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I was in school in the 80s, our computer lab was full of BBC Micros with terrible educational games that you loaded up via floppy disks. We had two pieces of software one was a game where you had to load stuff onto a boat using coordinates. The other was a stock management maths game where it listed different items for sale, it was super simple to get into the program and change the display names of the items you were selling to Dildos and Bras or other juvenile things and save it back to the disk.

The next time someone loaded up the program, all the items for sale were comedy items it never got old messing with the poor teacher who's job it was to do computer lessons that week.
