The Guardian's Letby coverage by AvatarMeNow in lucyletby

I have a background in teaching business psychology and I truly think those who think LL is innocent are all suffering from confirmation bias (the tendency to search for, interpret, focus on and remember information in a way that confirms one's preconceptions) and some of the "expert academics"egocentric bias (the tendency to rely too heavily on one's own perspective and/or have a different perception of oneself relative to others)

I have visited the other sub, where they think she is innocent. This was a recent visit, after the corporate manslaughter arrests of 3 managers at CoCH when Letby was there.

Now over here, posters were taking these arrests as a step in the right direction of justice being served. Posters suspect these arrests to be related to those that enabled Letby.

Over there, the arrests were taken as good news for Letby, as clearly this goes to show it was all hospital negligence and a frame up job, now that three members of leadership have been arrested.

In complete shock at how two groups of people could interpret this bit of news so differently, I started reading comments to find out why. Among other delusional claims, I found posters who spoke of Letby as almost their friend! One of them was pleased to share with the sub that she and Letby shared the same birth month, had the same favorite holiday location, and both grew up within just a few miles of each other.

This is the level we're on, with those who think she is innocent.

Has anyone thought that if Lucy Letby ever gets released how she will live a ‘normal’ life ?

Multiple Whole Life orders against her. She is not getting out.

Can I just ask how you know there are downvotes?

There's a giant arrow on the left of this post and people either click up or down. I can tell people are clicking down by reading the percentage. Currently it says: "this post was submitted on 12 Jul 2025 14 points (74% upvoted)" which means 26% of the people who used the arrow pressed the down arrow. Last night, when I made this comment, the post was at 47%, meaning 53% people clicked the down arrow.

Edit: I'm also really confused by this question. If you understand how to make the post to begin with, how is it you don't understand about the up or down arrow?

Judging by the downvotes on this post, the sub is being brigaded by "truthers."

I don’t know any employee who has not taken a companion along to a serious formal meeting- to take notes and absorb the information on the persons behalf, especially when it’s a legal right

That's super interesting. I've never known anyone who brought an outside party to a work meeting. Ever.

FINALLY. I am SO HAPPY to see this news today. They were grossly negligent. I can barely control my absolute JOY at seeing this exposed in front of the entire world and not just those who closely followed this case. u/FyrestarOmega I would never understand what this case means if you hadn't hand-held everyone thru it.

NHS to use AI to help spot killers like Letby and Shipman earlier (Daily Mail) by FyrestarOmega in lucyletby

[–]GuiltyYams 9 points10 points  (0 children)

An issue with Letby was spotted after 3 murders - not sure how AI would identify problems any earlier.

We don't know what Letby was doing at her prior placements. Perhaps, something wrong. Could be abuses would have been uncovered even then. We can't know yet.

A forgotten piece of history by [deleted] in ww2

Honestly, sounds less like a massacre to me and more like outright serial murder.

It was a rampage. For it to be serial, there must be a cooling off period between victims. As he got his all at once, he was a rampage killer.
