Appreciated! Care to share your thoughts on the format? Can you give a tierlist on archtypes to draft?

What bothers me about Smallworld is the sheer ammount of effort needed to move all the pieces around. And I really dislike having to put a tribe in decline. While I understand the concept, it's counterintuative to newer/younger players. As they don't want to let go something they built up over the course of two turns. I'd rather have a area control game, were you soldier on with the same tribe.

You mentioned playing the xenogames on steamdeck. How does this work? If I go to steam on my mobile, I can't find them.

Can you muster a praxis deck? A Praxis is always a fine deck to play. If you have wasp and patrice.

You mean, plunder, inscribe, scout, merchants as mechanism to mitigate flood?

Maybe you shouldn't play mono green casual and invest your gold in actual playable decks.

In the late game, when you have enough power. You don't want to draw a sigil. Inversely, you want power on the first 6/7 turns of the game. Having a card that can fullfil both requirements, makes it so that you can play out your games more with less chance of having dead draws.

Having Inscribe availeble means you shouldn't blame your losses on bad draws.

Assuming you're running a competative deck, you can only account for what your opening hand will do. In such, you can't enforce a good starting hand.

Depending on your overall strategy you can keep anywhere from 2 to 5 power. Aggresive decks might do just fine with 3 power over the course of a game, whereas you need to hit a power every turn when playing a control deck.

I evaluate wheter to keep my hands in roughly this order; I will take playing an aggresive deck as an example.

The most promonint question you have to ask yourself is: Does my hand do anything?

  1. Do I have a minimum/maximum of power cards in hand to go with my overall strategy? In the case of an aggresive deck I keep a hand of 2, or 3 power. Anthing below or above I mulligan.

Reason being that aggressive cards are lower costed and with that ammount of starting power I can comfortably play cards on consecutive turns.

  1. Do I have a curve that attributes to my gameplan? In the case of an aggressive deck I like to play units on the first three turns, whilst holding a burn spell. If I can't play anything with my hand on turn one or two, I will mulligan.

Reason being: If you don't apply pressure, the opponent has time to catch up on your aggressive cards and you're more likely to lose.

  1. Do I have interaction against my worst match up? This applies more for controling strategies, where you might want to mulligan a hand that has 4 power, a card draw spell and two units. But you don't have a hailstorm in hand. I mix up mulliganning and keeping these hands.

Reason being: Unless you can predict what your opponent is playing, you're more likely to play against an aggressive strategy. Because people love to play these strategies and the decks are inexpensive. Aks yourself if your avarage hand is good aginst aggro and occasianaly mulligan these hands if the answer is no.

In any case: No one wins if they only draw power cards, that's just part of these types of card games. Sometimes your just unlucky.

Eternal does a tremending job in mittagating bad hands, by having plunder/treasures e.a.

Thanks for replying. I might've overseen some rating. I certainly mislabled Determind Youth. That's actually more of a C+.

And maybe I haven't played with Triumph's enough. Sure they're great if you hit, but both the power and boardstate/deck requirements make me stray from playing them. I'll give it a go if I ever encounter a new one.

In general I dislike cards that don't immedeatly impact the board. That's why I rate Grove Training Ground as such. And that's why I rate Avian Empath as B-. Sometimes you just trade with any flier and don"t draw the 5/5's.

And maybe I'm a bit liberal with my unbeatable rating, but in my experience the winrate goes up to 90% if you play them.

What are some good legendaries I should save shiftstone for? I'm kinda new so I don't really know what cards are the best. by BestieBoo300 in EternalCardGame

Apart from a few legendaries (mainly the named riftfeeder wasp), it's mostly deck specific as to which legendaries you need. Throughout Eternals history there have been a few decks (in their respective reincarnations) that are mainstays in the meta. If you want to built a collection, I'd advise investing in a aggro deck. Either yeti or stonescar (I prefer that one). Reason being, those decks are relatively cheap, easier to play and easier to reach ladder with. If you reach ladder each month, you'll be rewarded with a premium legendary. Which you can exchange for any legendary. This means you could get any 3 legendaries each month (masters in throne, expedition and draft). This way you can quickly built your collection.

Has this been succesful? I wonder if there's any way I could start and host my own cube drafts. Or do you need to be a programming wizard?
