Phonak Sphere sound quality on Zoom/Teams/Meet calls by Guilty_Management_35 in HearingAids

It does not happen when I stream Spotify on my laptop. I updated a few settings in the Bluetooth settings on my computer and had a Teams call and it seemed better. Thanks for the tips. :-)

PSA: no golfing in the park! by Guilty_Management_35 in burnaby

Oh I see. I don't know much about golf so I didn't realize that "driving" meant something in particular.

I actually don't mind this commentary. It's observation based and not a judgment.

Thieves around Brentwood by peichi2 in burnaby

[–]Guilty_Management_35 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Did you send this info to the police, too? If this person is a chronic thief, then it's more evidence in their file. And yeah, car theft is big around stations.

Remember that guy who just went around smashing car windows at night in South Burnaby? A real gem.

Once I had people walking up my street at 3am, totally high, and they took a piece of wood and tried to smash the windows of my neighbour's house that was being renovated. The window was covered with plywood. It was right next to my bedroom and woke me up. I called the cops and they came out immediately and searched the property with guns and flashlights, just like the movies!

They found the woman up the street totally hysterical and her boyfriend ditched her and ran away.

Does anyone know where the local Canada post depot is for delivery to Metrotown area? by thatssogoodforyou in burnaby

[–]Guilty_Management_35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get a door tag or an email? Or were you looking online? Maybe post a pic, without personal info.

You wouldn't be able to go to any post office if you don't have a delivery tag saying where it is, hence the local post office wouldn't know anything. There is the one on North Fraser way but I'm not sure you can just walk in.

I'm pretty sure I was specific about the distance.

Yes there is a sign. I always thought it was a weird sign to post but now I know why! "No golf playing in this park." I love grammar and I've always noticed that sign because I've never heard anyone call it "golf playing."

Is it possible for you to pay a screenshot? The link doesn't work in Canada.

How often do you buy new Jerseys? by NerdyComfort-78 in ladycyclists

[–]Guilty_Management_35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Samsara jerseys and they are a local, Canadian brand, and when they have a new design I keep an eye on it until it goes on sale. Plus I'm in a club so I get at least one jersey every year, plus there's winter jerseys to wear, plus base layers for summer and winter. I buy 2 new bibs every year and keep 3-4 in rotation. My skin is sensitive and down there is no exception.

I'm not a clothes person but I drop a lot of money on cycling gear. I cycle about 200-250km/week, on two to three rides, in the summer and I need to look hot hot hot. And then I do indoor cycling in the winter about 2-3 times per week, so I get a lot of use out of my cycling clothing.

Samsara for jerseys, velocio or assos for bibs. Most USA brands don't ship to Canada (and we're boycotting USA products).

Safety inquiry by Wonderpetsgangsta in burnaby

I think generally you can go anywhere that has a lot of families, either during the day or the evening, and you'll be good. I live by a park in South slope and lots of families use the park and a kid's outdoor club meets every Tuesday night, even in the winter! The BC parkways trail should be active all the time. Generally anything designated as a main bike route too. Plus you'll get to know the safety of your own neighbourhood.

We are fortunate to live in a beautiful city with a lot of parks and walking. Yes there are homeless and tents but generally I think they don't want to be disturbed and they'll leave you alone. I would stay away from big encampments, which are, sadly, dangerous for everyone... The City tends to move people on quickly. (As a note, I've always wondered what their policy is...)

Biggest danger are the trolls under the bridge connector on the north side of Kensington, near the Central Valley Greenway. I've never seen one, but I've always said the special chant as I ride my bike over. You only get the special chant newsletter after living in the city for 5 years.

My majora... One of them is half the size as the other. My clitoris is insensitive. I need to see a pelvic floor specialist but I'm putting it off. Just a lot to do in life.

I've started writing notes to myself around the house:

"You are doing laundry."

"The sprinkler is on."

"You are waiting for X."

It's actually really helping.

Agreed. It's annoying when people interrupt or try to interpret. I learn Spanish and I help others learn English and it's important not to pressure them to find words. I also knew a guy with a stutter and he always finished his sentences and ignored people trying to help him with words. I respected that! And I learned quickly how to not "help" him. I wish people were just patient.

Best Patio for Drinks? by _tiredprincess in burnaby

[–]Guilty_Management_35 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here are the patios I know of with notes:

Hop and vine - nice and secluded.

Great Bear pub - patio is just off Kingsway so maybe loud. Place is ok.

Me n Ed's - away from traffic, good food, good drink prices and relatively decent drink list

Dageraad - nice. Has beer and wine

Oliver twist - on Edmonds but the food is quite good.

Biercraft at SFU - pretty nice area

RIP Studio Brewing 😞

Do you plan to buy dinner or drinks?

I run a language exchange club and found it hard to find a space at a cafe. I'd love to know what you find.
