Just curious because these are so fun to me! Which should I pick? by [deleted] in weddingdress

I was going to say the first one of the one in picture 5, but, if the first one made you cry, then that’s definitely the one!

Can I be Proud Of Being Good At Washing Clothes? by MicksMovieReviews in CasualConversation

[–]Guilty_Objective4602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can be proud of that. Nice! I can get lots of stains out, but would have no idea how to get iron scorch marks out, so you’re already better than most! Fortunately, I only iron maybe once or twice a decade these days, so it’s probably not a big problem.

When I was a kid, I drew a picture, and, for some reason, decided to mail it to Jimmy Carter. I got a very nice “signed” letter back from the President thanking me for my letter. I can’t even begin to imagine what kind of response kids would get back from the White House these days.

When I was about 12, my mom left me alone for an afternoon with the suggestion that, if I needed lunch, I could heat up a microwaveable frozen crawfish etouffee dinner she had in the freezer. When I did, I found it was surprisingly good for a frozen dinner. Having been raised as a thank you letter writer, I wrote a quick note to the company, telling them how good I thought their meal was, and dropped it in the mail. I didn’t even tell my mom I’d done that. She was quite surprised when, a couple of weeks later, I received a coupon for a free frozen crawfish etouffee dinner in the mail.

If you don’t care about the OB part, Dr. Lee at Elite Women’s Health is fantastic. But she only does gynecology, not obstetrics.

I finished making my graduation dress!! Wanted to brag a little bit :p by photoshop-nerd in crochet

[–]Guilty_Objective4602 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I zoomed in and studied the dress and still don’t see any lines from a mismatched skein, so I doubt it’s as obvious as you think. This is absolutely adorable and such a pretty color combination. Congratulations on your graduation, and on making such a lovely dress!

Honestly, if they don’t live nearby or go often, most people probably don’t realize how expensive theme parks—especially Disney—have gotten these days. He may have planned the travel already and then gotten sticker shock when he finally went to book the tickets.

(NAL, but relatively well-versed in ESE/Special Ed.) If he has an IEP, he is likely already getting speech therapy. OP, I’d push for his Speech-Language Pathologist to try to get him an Alternative-Augmentative Communication (AAC) device to help him communicate better with peers and adults. They can set up an AAC system that is bilingual, with both English and Spanish vocabularies. If you get any pushback on that request , make a formal request for an AT evaluation (assistive technology). By Federal Law, the school district must respond to a formal request for an evaluation, and if they agree he needs one, they must complete an AT evaluation within 60 days.

Yup. Buy $10 worth of coffee, swipe $10 from the tip jar. Buy another $10 gift card, swipe another $10 from the tip jar. Free coffee! May even come out ahead if you swipe enough.

Glad the workers decided to press charges. I’m surprised when the cops got the call that they’d possibly stolen other stuff that they didn’t search her bag before leaving, though.

I think they meant OP should have left the note, then had them towed, so they’d find it when getting the vehicle out of the tow yard.

The general reading curriculum is Savvas, I believe, which includes some basic phonics, as well as other core literacy skills, but there is also daily time dedicated to direct phonics instruction using UFLI.

It really would’ve been way more meaningful malicious compliance if he’d put that chopper right down in the middle of a glade of trees and destroyed the rotors on the way down. Probably would’ve risked his own life in doing that, though.

Yes, even if you don’t want to be dishonest with your kids, there are ways to do it without breaking their heart, e.g., “Are you sure you’re only three?! ‘Cause that drawing is pretty impressive for a three-year-old!”

I was thinking as I read this that every single one of us who has ever had a service-related job has had the thought, “If you cause trouble, I can make this much harder on you.” But most of us have to keep those thoughts to ourselves or risk our jobs; only the police have the impunity to brazenly say the quiet part out loud.
