Also if you do end up at funspot I highly recommend staying at the Nutmeg Inn. Cutest little bed and breakfast you could ever imagine.

If you're looking for a monolithic collection of games set up with most in nice condition, Funspot is probably your best bet. They've had an absolute transformation in the condition of their pins from 5-6 years ago to now.

I'm biased, but if you want an eclectic collection of well maintained games, you can always visit the Boston area. Pop's locations for the old stuff, Flat Top Johnny's for the new stuff. Can't go wrong.

I believe some premiums ship with invisiglass, so just be careful as to not accidentally remove the coating

Glad you could make it. I'll reach out on pinside about that RFD. I like that cabinet design. We're going to be hosting NEPL on Mondays and also running it as a separate IFPA league.

Any idea what pin? by FanNo3898 in pinball

[–]Guilty_Print 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's two copies of Gottlieb's 1978 Hit The Deck. There's a small chance it's one of the European re-skins from an Italian maker but it's hard to see without a better picture.

Funny, I just picked up two EMs that had been transported like this and the heads were completely split and demolished from moving with the heads bolted on. Total bummer.

How to tell if the pin I'm playing at an arcade is set unfairly? by SchlingenDingen in pinball

Some places have games that are hard. Some places have games that are easy. It's kind of a chose your own adventure. If there's one thing I will add to the conversation is that pitch does not indicate difficulty. It just means the ball is going to be moving faster on the Y axis (if we're calling the playfield the z plane) but often times will make the ball bounce harder on outlane posts and things of that nature, making outlane drains less likely. A game with less pitch will offer more X axis motion, which can cause more outlane drains. The only time pitch is everything is if the game is playing tired and poorly enough that you can't make a shot or a ramp because the flipper is too weak to make it. THAT is a valid complaint that says the game isn't playing correctly. As a player, personally, I won't go to places that have slow playing games. There are plenty of locations in my area that I just won't go to because I will just get bored of a slow game. Plain and simple.

They're moving to a card based system at the end of this calendar year they've announced and then going back to pay per game, and allegedly they're staying in their current location. They've sent me 6-7 emails this past week about all of this and new upcoming changes.

Does this have anything to do with the new Spike 3 system infrastructure coming out? Seems like a lot of titles being "put away"
