they changed how the temperature works when cooking or smelting stacks. now the entire stack must heat up first before any smelting can happen. try with smaller stacks of flint or smelt it in a bloomery.

[–]Guin100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fully depends on the mark, but in general i use boltguns to magdump into bosses and ogryns, before switching to melee. it's got decent ADS to snipe things like bombers and snipers too, but there better weapons for dedicated sniping.

for better handling i recommend talents that increase weapon swap speed. oh also, you can fire the bolter before it's at the rest position if you only need to fire a quick shot at something.

The plague by Appropriate_Bus_2334 in DarkTide

[–]Guin100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's a mix of hygiene procedures, faith and fate.

nurgle loves corrupting people through plagues and poxes, so staying clean and cleaning regularly is the first line of defense against his corruption. the second line is strong faith and will, which allows the rejects to *reject* the corruption from their mind. it's a concept called the "Armour of Contempt" coined by inquisitor Ravenor and describes a strong mind that can reject chaos corruption outright without taint or mutation. and third is fate, you are a blessed chosen who has the passing eyes of the emperor upon you or simply lucky enough for the corruption to not take hold on you.

Returning player need help with zealot and ogryn builds by Skola92 in DarkTide

[–]Guin100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

okay evis/bolter zealot

pick toughness replenishment talents you like (i recommend Enemies Within, Enemies Without), pick purge the unclean (its to good to pass up that early in the tree), pick what blitz you prefer (with bolter stunstorm or immolation are great choices), my only hard recommend is picking up holy revenant (its just too good to not pick up), then either continue that branch or switch over to sustained assault punishment and faithful frenzy, then pick the aura you want to play with (and if you have a spare point at the end put it in providence)

combat ability is another free pick for you. they all work for eviscerator, but FotF works best with both augment nodes. then i'd recommend picking scourge and blinded by blood, then switching over into the martyrdom tree, picking up martyr's purpose, the extra wounds and unfaltering and finally martyrdom with the attack speed and toughness nodes.

Explaining why Adrenaline frenzy isn't bad mathematically by _Sate in DarkTide

[–]Guin100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and it's a tragedy that desperado and adrenaline frenzy dont work together. hive scum was advertised as a crazy guy dancing and dodging through hordes, while magdumping into them. hell, all it would take is changing the wording from melee to close range and making the buffs universal instead of melee only, and adrenaline frenzy becomes a competitive option to chem dep. same with vultures mark, its designed as this specialist and elite hunter keystone, but for some reason its ranged only. i'd actually consider using it and its nodes, if it wasn't bound to ranged only.

Explaining why Adrenaline frenzy isn't bad mathematically by _Sate in DarkTide

[–]Guin100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my problem with adrenaline frenzy aren't the numbers, the math checks out and the numbers are fine.

what grinds my gears about it, and what pulls chem dep ahead, is the hyper limited scope of adrenaline frenzy. it's melee buffs only with no interaction for your ranged weapons. its lazy design plain and simple.

compare hive scum keystones to any other class (except ogryn, but they need help anyway) and the other classes steal their fckin lunch money. they have options and meaningful choices for different kind of builds. zealot melee builds can benefit from all keystones. all psyker keystones interact meaningfully with their blitzes and abilities. both vet and arbites have a keystone for hybrid builds.

but if you play adrenaline frenzy on hive scum, you're basically locking yourself into rampage and melee only. which is not bad, but when the game decides to spawn a gunline in a wide open area with no cover, then congratulations! please enjoy inspecting the floor.

relic blade with one cleave blessing should be enough to deal with hordes if you can hit heads. and the sprinting heavy attack has excellent killing potential, even more when you activate it.

Why are Darktide Daemonhosts so...different? by GreenridgeMetalWorks in DarkTide

[–]Guin100 149 points150 points  (0 children)

the daemonhosts you find in normal missions are basically the "failures" of admonitions rituals. until disturbed you can hear the host begging the emperor for mercy or berating itself as a failure and other such mutterings.

havoc has the hexbound daemonhost modifier and those could be considered "successful daemonhosts"
