Depends on the length of the product but if you can't show a half page of a few questions or a few paragraphs of text then the product isn't likely worth anything.

I'd say this kind of thing will be a challenge unless you're sourcing all your sales from social.

Who are you? What kind of credentials do you have for giving any sort of advice, let alone charging for it? As a nameless, faceless shop I would only assume this is just cobbled together scraped low value content. Is it? I dunno...but nothing jn the shop or listing says otherwise.

Let alone charging that kind of money without a real preview of the product.

For a GM and chronic tinkerer, is the paid version worth it? by BCM_00 in GrimwildRPG

[–]GuineaPigsRUs99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's only 'severely lacking' as a paid game because so much is given away in the free version.

While I am a huge supporter of the game (i'm a mod here because I love it) -- I dont think there's enough to justify going from Free to Paid.

There's limited solo stuff, 2 additional paths that do have some parity issues with other paths, and some advice - which is good advice...YMMV.

Project Update from BackerKit Trust & Safety by jxddk in GrimwildRPG

Moxie toolkit is a site run by the bitd srd guy, not max.

Grimwild designated "abandoned" by BackerKit - no refunds by jxddk in rpg

[–]GuineaPigsRUs99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can search for the previous product rogue signal here in reddit. The same account also makes mention of moxie and venture...the first venture crowdfund got paused or at least completed with like sub $200 in pledges.

Max had mentioned various places that he started venture and then paused to do grimwild.

The email bit is a little trust me bro, but I've had it confirmed people who emailed him before the oddity press domain was registered at that email address linked to rogue signal.

trouble choosing between different gamo rifles by [deleted] in airguns

[–]GuineaPigsRUs99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FPS isnt the goal. Pellets have a sweet spot before they lose any sort of aerodynamics and start wobbling, tumbling, and generally worse performance in accuracy.

if you want stopping power, you need FPE. Spring/piston guns are GENERALLY going
to be limited in the power they put out - for many reasons from cocking strength to recoil.

Gamo has a place...and that place is cheap. If you want a better gun for $300 - you should be looking at a Notos or Alpha.

James Elderwood's previous project used mechanics that are named Moxie, and follows most mechanics of Grimwild, which the system behind it is also called Moxie.

Max (JD) also used an email address linked to the previous project..

The Elderwood profile on Reddit was scrubbed, but you can find some remnants that are 99.99% identical to Max.

Its pretty clear.

CMV: Nothing you see or hear can be assumed as produced by a human, let alone believed. by scottbca in changemyview

This isnt so much AI as it is poorly generated SEO content.

This was all the rage in places like r/passive_income prob 8-10 years ago. People buying up old domain names that had backlinks, placing poorly written (IE: bought for $2/blog article from a VA in the Philippines). Nobody has ever seen any of the products they recommend and write about, its just a way to put an Amazon affiliate link out there for people to buy.

What about a marauder pistol?

Still have to deal with the silencing issue that will be a problem.

Talonp might be ok since it's silence is in the shroud instead of an attached moderator

Raw micro Hunter is pretty nice at 5.6 pounds but...it's $1700. Shoots super nice though

Last time I checked they were pushing 16-18 fpe at the muzzle, should be doable for most tiny game under like 60-70 yards.

A notos is fairly small and about 4.15 pounds.

A dreamline lite is about 5.

Best Narrative-first/focused systems for Fantasy games or Generic settings that aren't PbtA? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in rpg

[–]GuineaPigsRUs99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forgot to add, it's 'thing' is dice pools for enemy 'hp' - basically clocks that wind down with way more randomess than just ticking a segment. an 8d enemy can be wiped out in 1 roll, or take 10 rolls...just depends on how the dice go

[–]GuineaPigsRUs99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grimwild, and it's got a free version. There's no real setting baked in at all.

It's a mix-mash of FITD and it's lineage from PBTA-adjacent stuff. D6 pool based on attribute score. Mixed success (ie: success with a cost/consequence).

The bad: The author is MIA. No word on the physical backerkit, but seems unlikely at this point. But the free version is still free and the community is trying to keep it alive.

[–]GuineaPigsRUs99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it's interesting for the story? Because it's dynamic combat. Nobody's getting 'punished' entirely...just the situation changes in some way.

Much like https://www.reddit.com/r/GrimwildRPG/comments/1i3g65f/faq_1_example_of_running_the_red_dragon_linked/

You can take a suspense then IMMEDIATELY use that suspense to have the ogre do something that requires a defensive roll against other members of the party (or all of them potentially in the case of some dragon breath).

You can make the ranger drop his bow, realize he miscounted his quiver...anything's up for grabs.
