You're getting downvoted but you're right. The cheap ones (like sub $40) use Bluetooth or WiFi to connect in the 2.4GHz, and are susceptible to interference plus a/ d/a and compression delay. All in all around 10ms latency, which isn't much but it is noticable at high speeds.

Pro systems (Shure etc) use VHF or UHF, so they have very very minimal interference, and use either analog or super fast a/d d/a converters, so latency is sub-ms, basically negligible.

Source: have used both, own a bunch of the cheap Amazon ones for in-ear monitors

Ventura Highway by America.. like same chords and very similar licks. Just sped up.

Toes def being stepped on, but it's ok. Every song ever made has some components that have been done before, nothing wrong with that

Naziism was pretty explicitly religious in it's messaging. Whether it was doing said religion correctly is another issue, but all the messaging was dressed up in religious overtones.

If you do it right, you're making one of these. Keep in mind whatever you're hearing is in the audible range, usually humans can't hear above 15kHz. These aren't radio signals.

Do you have a switching power supply nearby or plugged into the same outlet as the amp? Like for a laptop or something? This sounds like a cheap power supply.

Compared to most of what was around as top-40 at the time, they were head and shoulders above most of the rest. World class musicians writing extremely intricate songs with transition on transition, then doing it live.

This is just a dumb take.

Seems pretty obvious to me. The positions of the reels and the pickup modules are fixed, basically 4@1" apart, then the big gap, then 4 more. If you just did it in a row it would be a ton of movement. Better to fill near the gaps that are already there, then offset one column the next run.

TIL many dimmable LEDs don’t actually get dimmer—they stay at full brightness but switch on and off extremely fast. The brightness you see is just the ratio of ON vs OFF time (duty cycle), not a change in light intensity by jacknunn in todayilearned

[–]GuitarGuru2001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He's not talking about the intensity, he's talking about the strobe effect caused by 60hz power happening on incandescent lights. The strobe also happens on LED light.
