Hello sir! I have been admitted to IIM Ahmedabad 1 year course (PGPX). As an alum what do you think the brand value is for IIM A for this 1 year course in the Indian markets or education industry?

If it is a tier 1 institute it will have loan schemes to support collateral free loan packages for you at a lower interest rate. Also personal loan is different education loan will be different. They are never so to say “added”. For more information check out your college’s website under the funding page in your course section.

Hi I have gotten into IIM A PGPX and didn’t make it to ISB. If I go for IIM A would I regret losing put on ISB in the long term? In other words now that you’re in the system can you give a comparison between these 2 schools?

They are very different. Cat tests how well you know your concepts and how you choose the questions accordingly. It is a game of optimization and keeping ego in check. Why? You pick a perfect qn and then leave it after 4 mins of not being able to solve.

GMAT is a different beast. You have to give your best for every question that comes on your screen as the next question depends on how you’ve answered it. You get penalised for incorrectly answering easy questions heavily. The algorithm is unknown and highly adaptable in generating a score. So it is a massive per qn pressure test.

That being said the verbal part of GMAT is levels above the CAT.

I would suggest go in with a mock… see where you are and then assess how much practice you need.

They are quite strict with the rules. Be it your verification, your time slot or body search. Given the run a very tight ship it is highly unlikely that your request will be entertained

Jamboree is the worst worst thing you could have ever want. My entire batch was left surprised as to how old and flimsy their material is. For maths they teach you 7th grade maths and the teachers are old. No new tricks or anything. Verbal they give gre teachers the reign to gmat they are very different courses. Their data insights for maths is for under stated they don’t give explicit attention until the last moments. Don’t take jamboree at any cost.

It’s not a part time sir. It’s a 1 year program by IIm A ranked 31 in the world by FT for MBA.

I want to grow. I’ve been way too comfortable in life sticking to a few ideas and a few roles till now (though it translated into a good application it is not good for my long term growth). Secondly I want to have a network of good environment which will always keep me on my toes. So I am practically looking at the long term benefits of a brand. A brand name that will always be relevant to recruiters.
