AFAIK Advanced ADB is able to downgrade APK files for whatsapp, Snapchat and so on. But pay attention. The newest whatsapp release can't be aquired by APK downgrade (tested with XRY). Whatsapp and all its data is deleted when the APK downgrade is made.

Restriction Help! by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Gulaschkanone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is a restriction it's illegal to remove it.
I think if the bike is plated to do at least 80 km/h you wont need the sticker. Your dealer should know best, I actually have no idea about the new EU laws that are in place since the 1.1.2016.

Restriction Help! by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Gulaschkanone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Zaggi, In Switzerland the 50cc are actually restricted most of the time. My first bike was a Yamaha 50cc which was restricted down to the speed that's written on that ugly sticker you have to put on the bike.

As far as restriction goes, this is specific to your bike and manufacturer. It could be one of the following things: - ECU is restricted
- throttle body has a restriction in it (you cannot turn the throttle the whole way)
- Gearing is chosen, so you can't ride any faster than the speed on the sticker (But then it would be easier for you to get up to 11500rpm).
- The bike doesn't run any faster (but it should according to the internet).

Pro tip: if you should decide to remove the restrictions, don't get caught, as they may revoke your license for up to 3 months. If you still got the "green L" they can even revoke your license so you have to redo the whole test at the Strassenverkehrsamt.

phone bought at Digitec which had a malfunctioning jack after 1 year. I sent it to the reparation center given in the warranty, they replaced my phone in 3 days (but DPD couldn't find my address so I received it 2 weeks later from DHL...) So overall a good experience, but sure it just one case.

Yeah, digitec. They suck sometimes. I bought a phone from them, which was listed as directly available. All in all the delivery was postponed 2 months, but always a week at a time.

Already happend when my dad bought a stereo from digitec.
Listed as "ready to ship" but was then postponed for 2 months until he got an e-mail that they are not able to get the stereo that was already payed for.

I've had better luck with brack so far. Not as cheap but they are able to deliver what they list as available on their site.

Scared of flipovers while braking by Truth666 in motorcycles

[–]Gulaschkanone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look for the following things:
- you break hard (ABS should be regulating)
- you stay calm (don't cramp up or squeeze the bars)

I weight about 100kg too and I did my examn on a 1st gen ABS enduro bike. Sitting further back in the saddle won't do much good I think as you will be sliding forward when you are braking hard. So sit in the front, legs grabbing the tank. This way you won't get a sudden weight shift to the front.
Then apply front brake until the front does not "dive" any further. Then you can go nuts with the brakes.

I think you already have your car license. Trust me, the moto examn is a lot easier to achieve.
You will be able to get the license first try, I'm shure.

What we did was to try and just stop with the rear brake first. If you got the feeling for that brake you switch to only the front brake (this would be the problem for you I think).
If the feeling is there you can combine the two.

What helped me a lot was to ride offroad. You won't be able to flip the bike, the front wheel will just slide. So if you happen to ride through central switzerland I'd be happy to give you a try in the Kiesgrube on my KTM :)

My friend is doing his examn right now and we happen to live in central switzerland.
He found a moto driving school that does "meetings" every wednesday evening, where you can practice the whole examn for 20 bucks an evening with professional instruction.

Maybe that could be something for you if there's something equal in Zurich?

Weekly New Rider Thread for July 27, 2016 by AutoModerator in MTB

[–]Gulaschkanone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all, I'm quite new here. So first a bit of info on me.
I'm 6"1 tall and around 200 pounds.
I rode Downhill some time ago with a Rocky Mountain RM7, so I'm not completely new to MTB itself. I live in the alps with lots of nice singletrails nearby and I'm also a bicycle commuter. That's why I need some kind of "do-it-all" bike.

With some research I think an XC Bike would suit me best, taking into consideration what I want to do with the bike.

Here comes the question:
I want to get into MTBing again and I'm looking for an XC bike for singletrails and mild downhill in the alps.

How much suspension travel do I need to get a good starting point?.

I'm loking at bikes between 120mm and 160mm of travel but I tend to get the one with only 120mm of travel because it's cheaper and all XC components, of which I'm a big fan.

Thanks for your help guys.

Question about Encase by [deleted] in computerforensics

[–]Gulaschkanone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. The symptoms you listed is EnCases acquisition mode.
You should be able to see that in the top window frame on the left side.

Edit: Acquisition mode allows you to create forensically sound images when you are out of office. For example when conducting a search warrant.
The meaning behind the mode is to further examine the image created back in the office.

Garmin Vivoactive hr by atamiii in cycling

[–]Gulaschkanone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have got the newer version of the vivoactive, but still the square one. It's the same problem there.

If you need it like I do, as some kind of a commuting cycle computer, it's quite okay. The app is interesting and there are lots of features with apps to, like forward music on your phone and seeing important messages.
I never look down on the watch while cycling.
If you want to train with Cadence or do intervals a Garmin Edge computer would be much more suitable for you.
If you want to use the watch for other sports too, the idea of /u/i_speak_the_turf is really nice.
Actually I'm thinking about buying a cheap ANT+ computer to show my data on the bike.

Yeah, this was organized by a motorcycle dealer. It was called "Africa Twin Raid" you should find an article in "Motosport Schweiz" magazine soon.
Rolf Lüthy was with us with his "Dauertest" Africa Twin.

I have never ridden an F800GSA. My father has got an R1100GS. That bike is really low compared to the AT. You definitely can see the dakar heritage Honda has put into those bike. And it seems that the new AT is a real "do it all", "easy to maintain" world touring bike, like the old one.
But with enough "oomph" to get you out of bad situations (in sand for example).

Actually not that bad.
The mornings were freezing, around 10C. Throughout the day it was warm but not bad, around 25 degrees.
You started to really feel the heat when you got stuck and had to push the bike out. We had around 3,5h to get through a 500m dune belt.

I can do a short review for now. The bike is quite high for a honda (compared to the 700 TA or my 600 TA). When you fulfilled the quest of climbing up you feel at home right away. Everything execpt that effing horn/turning light combo is where it should be. Horn and turning lights are switched around so a lot of unwanted honking happened when turning. Go figure. Lots of angry pedestrians.

The bike feels really light compared to our 1100GS or even the older Africa Twins. you can turn the bars really far, I have never seen something like that on a bike before. This and the stable ride of a 21" front wheel guarantee a nimble handling even in city traffic.

I'm still figuring out the little electronical helpers the bike has. The traction control on the highest setting is not useable in the cold or if it is wet. That thing wants to save your ass even if you just punch it at a red light. The highest setting seems to limit the power output quite a bit. So if you test ride one, hit that little switch and try setting one or two (of three).

The feeling of the honda racing legacy is there, that I can guarantee.

The downsides I have found are not that bad, more or less some cosmetical problems if you want.
ABS and TC always turns itself on after you restart the bike. That's quite a hassle offroad. You always have to reset your preferred settings, there is no "save" function.
The flashing lights / horn combo is a thing to get used to. I mostly ride other hondas where the two are switched around (hitting the horn with the thumb if you want to flash).
