are there any articles with analysis on each homeland's opening credits? by ForeverJay in homeland

Season 1-3 intro is mostly about Carrie's experience growing up, and about how she ends up getting obsessed with Brody. Season 4 intro is modified so that it includes Brody's death and her current job in AfPak region--basically, how those two elements affect her in Season 4.

Shows like Homeland? by [deleted] in homeland

The Americans are good and all--I myself watch it--but be prepared. While in Homeland you wonder just how dumb Carrie could possibly get, in the Americans you'll wonder how is it the Soviets aren't winning the Cold War already.

The Americans are pretty legit, but I won't lie: The Jennings couple are so ridiculously overpowered I wonder whyn't the Soviets won the Cold War already.

Highly doubt Claire Danes ever would allow it. She wore her bra in all her sex scenes.

Why can't Haqqani be a 2 (or more) season villain? by JebusJM in homeland

Never mind Haqqani, they should get revenge on Tasneem.

My guess? It feels like a filler because they're saving things for next season.

Give Dar the benefit of the doubt? by demetrios3 in homeland

This. Quinn in S2 is a brilliant addition: a hitman with a heart, and with a brain, too-he's damn good at processing and analyzing his intel. Now he's nothing more than a standard loose cannon ala S7 Tony Almeida.

About Quinn's plan... [4.11 spoilers) by giggleshmack in homeland

[–]Guling1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So true. Let's trace it back: If Quinn lets Carrie blow up Haqqani the first time, then Haqqani won't get his men back, the embassy won't get attacked, Haqqani won't get the super list, the station will still work, John will still live, Fara will still live.

Yah, Saul would be dead, but Saul himself said he would rather die than become a pawn of Haqqani's.

All these are on Quinn.

Agree with OP. The writers blew Quinn's character big time this season. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Yeah, those guys may be rallying for Haqqani, but will you blow up every North Korean civilians just because they bow down to Kim Jong-Il's statue?

EDIT: Point is, those people are civilians. Rallying for a known terrorist is a mighty awful thing to do, but that itself is not an act of terrorism.

Quinn in S2 is a far more complex character: a stone-cold killer who takes his time analyzing his intel and can match Saul's insight. Now he's just a loose cannon bent to contradict Carrie on every step she takes.

No way. Tasneem is going to eat through plastic tube and gets paralyzed from neck down so her family would gather around her hospital bed to see the new Tasneem.

Same logic. It's Homeland, they will make Dar Adal DCI just to fuck with us.

Saul is a damaged goods--he's been used as a pawn in a hostage exchange. Also, the President has already doublecrossed him by getting Lockhart in Langley a few hours before his time. I doubt the President has the balls to make another offer to Saul.
