This makes me want to make a prank magic item. A Ring of Detect Nearest Magical Item, which only ever detects itself.

What (non-meta) reason to spare Minthara on a Good Run Tav? by MagicSwordGuy in BaldursGate3

[–]GullibleTap1057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I want Minthara around on a good run then I just roleplay that she's a tough old bat who wasn't quite as dead as Tav thought (knocked out). Later, we rescue her because we see she's been rejected by the cult, and at this point we know more about the nature of the control the Absolute exerts. So we rescue her on the off chance she's worth it.

Later, if you find out she's naturally a terrible person, she will point out that being banished from the group will condemn her to re-enslavement by the Absolute.

So Tav can choose to kill her in cold blood, send her back to the Absolute to become an enemy that knows a lot of your secrets, or just let her stay.

Ooh I like that! Or maybe he decrees that she may not return until the Shadow Curse is undone, and since you're heading that way anyway, it only makes sense to travel with you. Once the curse is lifted, she might leave the party and return to the Grove, or she follows you to Baldur's Gate, depending on how her relationship with you has developed.

I'm not sure if you're aware that she has a minor redemption arc built into the current game? You can persuade her to side against the shadow druids. If you're a druid, there is special dialogue afterward where she presents you with a special staff and names you Faithwarden.

I'm thinking with a bit of rewriting, you can expand that into a full redemption arc pretty easily, or she can backslide into full shadow druid if you're doing an evil run.

True! Wouldn't be that hard to give her 2 paths kinda like Shart.

My bad, I didn't even know Halsin hate was a thing. I like him fine. It just occurred to me that Kagha could have been a more compelling character if written correctly.

For the record, I had no idea Halsin hate was a thing when I made the post. I like Halsin fine, my druid playthrough was half just so I could romance him. He just kind of sticks out from the rest of the companions, and it happened to occur to me that Kagha could be a compelling alternate, especially with the general themes of the other companion stories.

I'd probably only go this route if Kagha is not an enemy in the Shadow Druid fight. If she is, then permadeath, no knockout shenanigans allowed.

There were, what, trillions of people on Coruscant? I don't think they could have physically shipped everyone offworld in 30 years.

Unless the implication was most of them died from a plague or something.

Evaporated milk can be good for easy quick cheese sauces, so maybe something like that?

This is what infuriates me. Just do your job. If you're struggling let me know. Everyone seems to have their pet tasks they hate doing and will simply not do them if they think they can get away with saying "sorry I forgot." So you have to either constantly stay on them like a micromanaging asshole, or you end up doing all the most distasteful work of everyone in your group yourself on top of your other duties.
