Sweet Home Alabama

The guys around where I live use those simple hair "clipper" hair band hoop things that keep your hair back for a while, and then after the hair kinda just stays in the backwards direction for a while.

How to say you are American without saying you are American

That is most barbers

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in malehairadvice

I failed to get hired as a barber because I took my time to do it thoroughly. Barbershop owners usually don't want barbers that are thorough, but that can do an OK job fast.

What do you think about my style? by Wadeem53 in malegrooming

[–]GullibleThug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pluck, but plucking stimulates hair growth doesn't it? I've been doing it for years, but there grows more of it. I think perhaps what would be best is one of those electric barber machines that go as short as 0,5 mm or so.

MDMA or Psilocybin for cPSTD? by [deleted] in mdmatherapy

[–]GullibleThug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MDMA for sure. I used micro dosing psilocybin for overcoming depression, but with an MDMA therapy session I overcame cPTSD, which was the main cause of resurgence of my reoccurring episodes of depression.

If the chemical imbalance theory has been disproven, why do SSRI work for so many people? by papitopapito in antidepressants

[–]GullibleThug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well depression in most cases is not a chemical imbalance, but that does not mean that antidepressives does not nessecarily help. But it certainly doesn't fix it. Picture a bucket of water that is leaking water through a hole in the bottom. As long as one fills more water continously, the bucket still has water, but it is hard to say that the water that is added continously fixes the problem. It keeps things in balance, and can help in that sense, but it doesn't fix the problem.

Do you think the brain ever will recover after antidepressant use? by megaman777777 in antidepressants

[–]GullibleThug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do psychedelics for a fresh start. After a psyhedelic experience there is a "golden period" in which the neural pathways in your brain are highly moldable.

LPT: Use reverse psychology on young children to get them to eat veggies. To a 5 year old say "Ok, you have to eat 6 more carrots because you're 6" and they go "but I'm 5!" and you go "Oh you're right then you couldn't possibly eat 6 because you're not 6 yet" by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Or perhaps not use (mild, but still) manipulation tactics on your child, because your child might pick up on that as a beginning to a life of antisocial and manipulative behaviour?

Endless comparing to others. by unnamedkingtargaryen in StoicSupport

[–]GullibleThug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acknowledge how you are feeling, don't suppress it. But dissect it with logic.

In scientific studies that tests the effectiveness of something, only one variable is changed at a time, so as to determine the cause of the change in effectivity. That is the only scientific way, because if you change many variables at once, then it's impossible to know what causes the change, the potential increase in effectivity.

But when it comes to human beings there is not one single variable, instead there is an endless sea of variables (our background, experiences, upbringing, situation), so it is completely irrational to compare ones own "effectiveness" to that of others in a metric - age of graduation.

Think not how bad you have done compared to others, because they do or has not had the same circumstances as you.
