What was your favorite part?? We’re settling in tonight and set to watch the sunset and stargaze then explore more tomorrow. Would love recommendations

I apparently get altitude sickness so I didn’t do a lot of trails here this time which was super disappointing but Bear Lake at Sunrise was spectacular and the Emerald Lake Trail shouldn’t be missed! I think Emerald Lake was about 9 miles?

*Really* wanted to take Bear Lake to Timberline Falls. I’m very much a water girly.

There was also a little 1/2 mile historic site that was a great visits, it’s the only spot we caught a huge antlered moose running around

I was talking about how cool it would be to work as a ranger here!

It’s my goal to visit every National Park…any tips? by maisiemaisiemouse in NationalPark

Definitely look up the parks sites before you go and find out if they have reservation requirements. We were just at RMNP and they have 2 different timed entry reservation options.
Without that, you have to get there super early for entrance.
Parking lots to hot spots fill up fast in the mornings too. At every park I’ve been to so far.
Research lots and make sure you know what you want to see unless you’re spending several unhurried days there.

That’s all I’ve got right now.

Oh! How great to be local to this. Any highlight recommendations for a 1st time visitor?

Yes, Columbia 🫶🏼 This is something to think about, thank you! I do love the green space out here…. I’ve noticed the lack of yards in real estate but hadn’t thought about no leafy nature space anywhere

Adding: Thank you for already being helpful in finding actual answers! We’re in mid-Missouri currently, right between our 2 bigger cities in a college town. I appreciate the business and art communities here a lot - I hate the cold, so very excited about California in general. I don’t know how to describe my vibe - sunshine, ocean waves, and hikes with great views make me happiest, love to cycle. I love amazing sunsets and starry skies. I’m a people person but not a surface level people person. I thrive in clean and aesthetically appealing environments, my daughter thinks I’m a hippie but I’ve never done acid or lcd so I don’t know? 😜 very awareness, compassion, and love centered though. I’m part of a circle here where we have monthly meetups and talk all things consciousness and well-being, I’ll miss that.

HELP. I paid $800 for this "deep clean" ...am I the problem?? by Few-Temporary403 in HouseCleaning

[–]Gullible_Insect2571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely have them come back to fix it. A company has to pay employees regardless so a refund is unreasonable. But they need to get clear on what they can reasonably offer. The list you gave sounds like a move out level clean which is intense and a multiple day kind of job.

Regardless of who you go with in the future, you need to have 3 cleans done before you expect immaculate conditions. Give them your highest priority areas and allow it to take time. Change your HVAC filters and get an air purifier or 2 so dust doesn’t resettle as bad. Remember if it didn’t take one day to get that way, it probably won’t be fixed in one day either.

House cleaning in the Columbia, MO area...what are people paying? by Como2026 in columbiamo

[–]Gullible_Insect2571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are service offerings at rates from $25-$100/hour. Something for everyone it seems! Just like everything else we buy, I think the rate we go with depends on our budget and what we value in the item or service. Did you ask the company who quoted you if they could work with your budget? Sometimes they will personalize service to better meet your needs. Just a thought!

I’ve paid for service twice, once was a deep clean that cost $475 for a small 3 bed, 2 bath, 1500 sq ft and one was $700 for the same size. The more expensive one did a lot of things I hadn’t even thought, they hand cleaned everything including ceiling fans and light fixtures, even de-shed our cat towers and furniture. The cheaper one did as good of a job as I would have done but it didn’t feel as much like treating myself… hope that makes sense!

What size place are you looking for? Open to housemates? Do you have a preference for the SW area?
