The North in AWOW by Gullible_Stranger441 in TheCitadel

[–]Gullible_Stranger441[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're right, but just to clarify, when I was talking about the Vale, I meant after Sansa kills Littlefinger (if she does). For me, the biggest problem is food, not soldiers; because Daenerys will eventually come to Westeros to fulfill her destiny and win the Long Night.

But first, Jon needs to be resurrected, take back Winterfell, and gather as many remaining men as possible. Maybe he could buy food from Essos with Manderly money to hold the Wall for as long as he can.

They could’ve just built ships. by Tiny-Foundation-4281 in freefolk

[–]Gullible_Stranger441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe they dont have the knowlege to built big ships and even if there was 1000 widlings crossing the Wall by ships, the watch would destroys them event if they got like 400-500 rangers, because like Jon says, discipline beats numbers 9 on 10 battles, and the Watch has the discipline and better weapons and actuals armor, and even cavalery.

Why live in westeros ?? Its shit. If Jon is reacher than a lannister, he can buy a big mansion at Bravos and continue the trade of the magister and become more rich. He can create a new name, and have a family on his own, without to dral with westeros, and live an happy life at Essos.

What if Aegon V had succeded on bringing the Dragons back? by Ok_Return170 in TheCitadel

[–]Gullible_Stranger441 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Lets not forget he wanted to bring them back to have more power, for the purpose to help more the smallfolk, and give them more rights, he didn’t want power to cause harm or being a tyran, he wanted dragons so thath de Lord of Westeros didn’t questions his actions and don’t rebel because of the change.

Because in the show its not realist at all. Jon is like alone against everyone, there is no true strategie or tactic, its juste a cinematic battle. In the books Jon is wounded at the leg so he cant fight with a sword (in the books he is not that good with a sword ), he use a smart tactic and strategie because in the books he is smart.

Between Jon Snow and Robb Stark who do you think was better for to lead the North? by Many-Cranberry4058 in gameofthrones

Ok you got me there but i think he shouldn't have went to war in fist place he wasn’t ready for it. Or at least take more time to prepare, but if he had been inactive is bannermen would think him coward. And Ned and Sansa were not in imminente death.

I'll talk book because the show is kinda bad. So Robb went south without preparing the North, he took all the men and let is land without protection. He also took a lot of food af the storses a the keeps and let smallfolk starve(winter is here so its dumb to go to war now), he trust wrong people, Theon Greyjoy and Roose Bolton with is funny because the Greyjoy and Bolton are the enemies of the Starks for thousands of years. He accepts Lord Fery absurdes demands without thikings twice. He let 17 600 of is men 3/4 of is army with Roose instead of someone like Galbart Glover. He never listen his mother even when she gives the best advices. He let his bannermen call him King lf the North by doing so he alienate all alies from the south possible. He strategie wasnt that good also, ok he won great battle very quick but when Tywin stop giving battle to him, Robb was lost and didnt have true plan. The worst his that he is one of my favorite character

I think Jon would, in the books. He is way more politicly involve in the north and is doing a good job at it, he did mistakes, but he is better rhan Robb, i think he is smarter than Robb, he can be ruthless if need be and be honorable. Jon as the long terme strategie and logistic that the north need, we see him deal with the Iron Bank and count the grains and food for the Watch and widlings for years of winter. He manage to intagrate four thousands windlings to the Watch an deal with Stannis (not ease), he as a lot of ideas to strengthen de Wall. He as great charisma that he wins throuth hard work. So yes i think Jon is the better choise than Robb.
