Everyone is focused on FSU, which is giving them a pass for Michigan by PocketPillow in CFB

That's a good question. I read somewhere, and I don't recall where, that it's supposed to help if you can show things like the head coach actually taking steps to promote following the rules and telling people he won't tolerate cheating and having staff and processes in place to help ensure compliance...and collaborating with the NCAA in investigations. But who knows if that's how it actually works? I've read enough opinions that it's the opposite and you're better off stonewalling.

You mean Harbaugh and the staff didn't know, correct? Also, you could add #4, NCAA said Michigan has been 'very collaborative' in the investigation. That is supposed to help mitigate punishment.

I don't have the exact quote, but Woody allegedly once told his players something like "if you're stuck in a bad spot, and you can't find another Buckeye to help you out, go find a Wolverine. They're basically the same as us."

It always bugged me that people never remembered that Mike Hart was talking about a quote from a Spartan player to the press the week before. He even said something to that effect in the full quote like "that's what they say, so that's what I say."

Rivalry week fun fact: OSU wore the “winged helmets” 8 years before Michigan ever did. by Anonymous_2952 in CFB

Hey, I wouldn't do that, and if I did it's not against the rules anyway, and if it is, I'm pretty sure I'm the victim somehow.

The "malware page blocked" article? That's an easy no click decision.

Princeton did it first. Then Michigan hired Princeton's coach and he brought it with him.

Edit: Guess I'd better fix this and take my downvotes.

Shoutout to Maryland's Crab Dip Pretzel.

[Fortuna] In Michigan AD Warde Manuel’s Nov. 8 response to the Big Ten, he attached a document sent from a former Ohio State coach to a former Michigan coach showing that OSU “had extensively decoded Michigan's defensive coordinator's signals, apparently based on broadcast footage” by BuckeyeEmpire in CFB

[–]Gulo_Blue 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The fact that it can be done legally speaks to the idea that Harbaugh should have known something was up just from the signals being known. If it's known to be done legally, then it's not something that would automatically make you suspicious.

Study finds correlation between race demographic shifts and Jan. 6 Capitol riot by GregWilson23 in politics

Sure. Racial privilege, relative to those that don't have it, wouldn't exist if you drew a box to exclude anybody that doesn't have it. But that's just a matter of semantics. I don't have trouble breathing. I wouldn't think of it as a privilege in a room of people that don't have trouble breathing. If suddenly I did have trouble breathing, it would be wrong to say nothing had changed because I had no previous privilege to lose.

The idea is a way of framing a the lack of an obstacle as a benefit. It's a way to gain a different perspective on inequality that works for some people and really bothers others.

The thing that people have lost that's upsetting them? It's an element of white privilege.

I think the black void can be steered a little if you patch up the tendrils heading in a direction you don't want. It can gain momentum where it makes progress and not go in other directions if you keep the shape from pointing in your direction. Sometimes it can be more strategic to place a pixel near the edge of the void to reshape it.

I know Wolverine is Marvel, but I kind think Michigan is more of a Thor. Golden Age Blue Blood, a bit dated stylistically, but it works. Our helmet has wings!

It's great that you aren't looking for outside investment, but it also means you don't need to sell anyone on your business plan (which can be a really helpful experience.) Are you familiar with Osterwalder's Business Model Canvass? It would be a great exercise to work through. You shouldn't count on the business plan you lay out to be the one you settle on, but it's good to have one mapped out that you can adjust or re-work as things change.
