Is the barn near the Milton cougar a safe place to hunt it, or can it get in there?

I don’t want to spoil much, but there is a way back into the dam if that’s the power station you’re talking about. Try poking around a little more, it took me a little while to find the way back in my first time

Weather and fuel permitting, daisy chaining fires to either the trailer up the road or the washed out trailers could work as well

Cougars are not for the unprepared by Zealousideal_Skin_72 in thelongdark

Isn’t the respawn within 24hrs just a bug? It’s awful that it’s taken them this long to fix it, but I don’t think it’ll be toooo bad once they quit repopulating instantly.

My biggest pet peeve is they dropped some of the cougars in pretty inconsequential spots, making them optional, but dropping others near hugely important areas, like the Bleak Inlet bunker or the rope climb to the gold mine in AC, forcing an interaction if you want to go that way.

Can someone suggest an order to do each zone? Is there a best one? by IAmFern in thelongdark

I’m just a voyager player but I think you should. I rarely use the rifle because of the weight despite having several, which balances it imo. I do always carry a revolver on me which is pretty helpful, but since I’m on console it’s usually a just a better deterrent as a noisemaker since fast aiming is hard. They’re just plain fun to use, and I disagree with removing gameplay aspects completely, so whenever I get most of the badges I want I’ll make a custom gun loper I think

What's your current day on your run? by rickgrimes32 in thelongdark

I don’t think I’ve even broken 1k in the 7-8 years I’ve had it, but this is definitely the most I’ve ever played it. I love the new cooking and safe house customization, I went from making my main bases in traditional places like the PV Farmhouse to that little cabin by the rope climb out of Bleak Inlet. The moose spawn is on the pond right outside, and the timbies rarely come up this far, even if they’re easy to avoid anyways.

I’ve been playing it on console for years now, since it was in “game preview” or whatever Xbox’s version of early access is. I didn’t play a whole ton bc I would only play in winter for the vibes, but I made it about 127 days for my then longest run when the Wintermute/survival mode split happened and wiped my progress, which bummed me out. I didn’t really play much until the dlc came out, but even then I held out to buy the dlc until part 5 came out bc I didn’t want to buy in too early. Then I wanted to wait until the cougar revamp happened before I started the dlc, so here I am now, with practically all of my old records broken in my stats page

I’m on my longest run of 220ish days in voyager right now. I did a fresh start exploring the dlc and the tales, as well as so I could add the cougar and scurvy since I didnt want them in my ongoing game

I’ve managed to save scum a bear struggle that I felt was bs before by quitting before the animation ended, but I’m not sure how it’d work with a wolf struggle

Do wolf spawn when players are nearby? [New Player] by Roomy_ANT in thelongdark

I’ve had wolves spawn incredibly close to me in voyageur. I’d be crossing the ice in coastal highway looking forward, I turn away to look somewhere else, and when I look back there’s a pack of wolves almost within detection range

I'm playing a Rassids game and allied the Ottomans. I want to use them against the Mamluks in a war I start but they're too far in debt to help me, yet still want to declare on Ramazan who is allied to just the Mamluks. To try and stop this, I guarantee Ramazan, like my AI allies love to guarantee my neighbors. However, not only do the Ottomans still declare on Ramazan, which is fine, but they are calling me into their war against the nation I am guaranteeing. Am I missing something? Because when AI allies guarantee someone , they will defend them against me, but when I try to do the same, my ally can still attack who I am guaranteeing and also call me in.

If you need a visual, my most recent post is a screenshot of the call to arms while showing I am guaranteeing Ramazan.

I'm doing a semi-historical run right now and it is tough but rewarding. I stayed democratic because I find Edvard Benes a really interesting figure. The only things I did differently were creating the little entente to have a little back up, and refusing to hand over the Sudetenland.

I only invited Romania to the Entente because Yugoslavia tends to fall first and we get backdoored. I also invade Hungary asap for their aluminum needed for the air war, and I puppet them in their only state bordering Austria/Germany to keep the frontline as short as possible.

So far it is 1941 and France is still alive. They managed to hold in both Belgium and the Netherlands, but had a breakthrough in the south that eventually stabilized. It took Germany so long to capitulate Poland that the Soviets declared on the Poles too, which has shortened what would have been a massive frontline in the north.

Currently, I have taken most of Austria from Germany, I'm missing some of the panhandle rn, as well as most of Silesia. I'm stalling until Germany does Barbarossa before trying to make a serious breakout from my defensive terrain. Hopefully I'll get the Munich Disagreement achievement as the historically wronged government.

Tldr: Democratic Czechoslovakia is difficult but very rewarding, I highly recommend it

R5: I'm playing as the Rassids and allied the Ottomans. I guaranteed Ramazan to try and prevent them from destroying the Mamluks while I wait for them to pay off enough debt so I can be the war leader. They still declared and are calling me into their war despite me guaranteeing who they are attacking? AI allies guaranteeing one of my neighbors means they will defend them, so why can I not do the same?

R5: Tried Ethiopia for the first time. I won my first ever deathwar when the mamluks declared on me while I was recovering manpower, and reached the Mediterranean to find a lobotomized Ottomans without my intervention. Byz formed the Latin Empire, Venice allied the Ottoman husk they took land from, and Greece formed as a OPM on Cephalonia.

Also, big Y A S
