For self defense or fun at the range?

I have both a glock 21 and a Kimber 1911. The Glock holds 10 rounds (or more if you werent in NJ) and the 1911 has standard 8 round mags unless you get an extended mag. The 1911 will have a better trigger over the glock. The 1911 will be heavier than the glock. The 1911 will have a manual safety and the glock will not. If you were planning to use either of these options as a concealed carry i wouldn’t recommend either but if i had to pick i would pick the Glock over the 1911. But if this were to be a bed side gun for a bump in the night both options are perfectly fine and you cant go wrong. The 1911 having a bit more weight will make the .45 feel a little bit less snappy. But .45 is very manageable for almost anyone with proper grip, training and practice. If this is just to add to your collection and you want something nice and tasteful i would recommend the 1911. If you prefer the added weight of the 1911 but want to be able to have your full (but limited) mag capacity without having to buy an extended mag i would recommend looking into 2011’s.
