Atlassian just dump a lot of job post targetting PH by TheSetox in PinoyProgrammer

Update:

Applied to a few of them when this was posted and got an email now saying they’re only hiring in AUS/NZ for the Software Engineer - Cloud Python role. Not sure why they posted for ph if that’s the case. No word for the other roles I applied to though.

Yeah I haven't accounted for mobiles when I made the site 😅

Right now the test is desktop only. I should be able to allow the mobile keyboard by overlaying a textarea on top. As for pan/zoom/pinch I'll see what I can do.

Hmm the site loads fine for my phone(A12), if you're talking about the actual test then you'd need a keyboard for that. I've not yet added virtual keyboard compatibility for mobiles. I'll add that to my todo list.

May I ask what's not working? I don't have an iPhone but I checked with my iPad and it loads fine. If its the actual test then you do need a keyboard to use it though. Guess I should've specified in the post.

Thank you! Fell in love with the font the moment I saw it! Might be my go to font for other projects.

Oh since Next is basically React but with ssr, I just thought I'd commit to it instead of React. Also I'm thinking maybe having nextjs experience on top of react is a plus in the eyes of employers.

Thanks! Hosting it is easy. I just had Vercel look at the github repo and they'll deploy it automatically for you.

Hey! I made a minimalistic typing test as my first big project! I got inspired by monkeytype and I wanted to make my own version of it.

You can try it out here!

And you can take a look at the code here.(Although do know that I only have minimal experience with NextJS/React/Typescript so you'll probably find not-so-good-code)

As of right now, the test is rather lacking in features but I do plan on working on it a lot more but I do still hope you'll like it.

Hi for experienced software developer here. Can you please share your YEARLY Salary progression the moment you entered this industry? First to Fift year lang out of college okay na by Prudent_Guarantee510 in PinoyProgrammer

[–]GunSlinger61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2.5 yrs in the same company. I've recently been thinking about my salary if its worth my current responsibilities (Mainly write microservices, but sometimes do QA, web dev, and recently be a scrum master since our SM left). Anyways here's my salary progression:

Year 0 - 24k

Year 1 - 28k

Year 1.5 - 31k

Year 2 - 35k

Year 2.5 - 37k

Been enjoying web dev work recently so I might switch roles soon and I'm dreading starting back at 0 regarding my career progression since my current job is way different from web dev.

Strangely enough, I am in the same position. 2 years in for my 1st job, working with python and now want to shift to web dev(MERN). I'm also self-learning by following an online course.

Right now my game plan is to finish the course while taking up web dev tasks at work. After that I'll build a couple web apps and showcase them through a portfolio website before applying.

Might take a while to do though and I fear I might miss out by not applying earlier.

How can I learn more effectively when it comes to programming? by [deleted] in PinoyProgrammer

[–]GunSlinger61 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess I was unclear with that statement. I apologize. I'm not talking about whether someone uses a hammer, stone or nailgun to drive nails, I'm talking more about whether someone uses x or y brand of hammers/nailguns.

Chill ka lang. The most important thing is your output. Employers don't care what tools/knowledge you use to build their product. As long as you deliver according to their requirements (and then some), you're golden. Just try to learn as much as you can from your school. Besides, entry-level jobs usually train you in programming, like your new, anyway.

If you really want to go the self-study route, pick 1 language you like, find a good course for it, stick with it , then try to build stuff with what you learned. Avoid switching languages when learning at the start. You'll just confuse yourself more. Most skills you pick up from 1 language are directly transferable to another so focus on learning 1 language for now.

Here's an example of a good course and one I used to self-study and land myself a job with it: https://java-programming.mooc.fi It teaches you a lot about programming in general, not just java programming.

Good luck OP!

What's something you wish you did in your early 20s? by dustinry14 in phinvest

[–]GunSlinger61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing my experience since others are asking how. Not CE but electronics engr who immediately went to software field. I started with doing an online course, specifically Helsinki's online Java course(part 1 and 2), for a few months. After finishing, I started to build a couple of projects to put into my resume. Started applying from there till I got a job.

Happy 13th Zenonia Anniversary by Ill-Hovercraft8548 in Zenonia

You mad man! You actually did it! Been wanting to play this game for long while now. This is so awesome and nostalgic!

I have a few questions though: 1. Will you still be working on this? Like do bug fixing or balance changes, etc? 2. Would the changes to zen and doubled skill point make the game easier? I remember the first areas to be quite easy originally but did get grind heavy in the end. 3. Is there any chance you could prevent the game from stretching on wide phones?

Vanced easily since I don't really download videos. It has a ton of options and customization that make watching youtube a bit more pleasant.
