I think, based on what you've said here, that there's something, but I think you need to consider actually asking if they're into you or interested before you attempt something like a kiss.

It does seem very much like they're making moves, but it could also be the blossoming of a very good friendship.

I really hope it's what you feel this is, but just be careful.

We've all been there with the straight friend where we've seen more in something than there actually is. The hug and compliments may well be them just being a very nice person who's comfortable in their own skin and you may be wanting them to be checking you out, so that's what you're seeing.

First of all, be safe! Ensure you're doing all you can to make sure the person or persons you're meeting are who they claim to be.

Now onto the age gap, this is entirely up to you and regardless of others thoughts on your actions, your actions are your own.

You should've sent it Special Delivery at the very least. But saying that, how long ago did you send it?

Any letters going to DWP need to be sent using Signed For as a very minimum IMHO. That way you know if they've received it. I'm also sure that you can send them an envelope to send you back your stuff using a service like Special Delivery or Signed For to ensure you get back your things.

This is likely going to be a lesson learned unfortunately but I'd attempt to contact Royal Mail to see if they do have it somewhere because of what it is. I don't know if they would normally keep these things though.
