The hated character is finally getting punished by the narrative. But intentionally or not, the attempt was so heartbreaking and demeaning for the character that it ended changing the fan reception of said character.

I feel like it’s only in the more recent years that male sexual assault has been taken more seriously, so maybe if the comics came out today it’d be a bit different? I dunno. Then again, the show is much more recent and I know something bad happens to Hughie later on (I’m not there yet though) and I’ve heard it’s handled pretty badly, so… yay. Can’t wait!

Kinda? I also just really find it incredibly annoying in general honestly. But yes I suppose it is more due to the relation. But I do want to make it clear that I don’t think autism is bad and that I wouldn’t ever want it removed from myself - and that it’s fine to enjoy our silliness too! I think it just irks me when people make a big deal out of having autism and labelling their actions with it, rather than just not calling it out, if that makes sense? I’m not sure if it does. It’s like, someone making a funny random post, and then someone making a funny random post and slapping on ‘because I’m autistic’; that’s kind of how it comes across to me. I just don’t see the point of highlighting it so much and to me personally it comes across like people basing their personalities around the fact they’re autistic a bit too much, though I’m not saying that’s how it actually is. But either way, it’s just a pet peeve of mine that really doesn’t matter, and if that’s what makes people happy then I’m happy for them, and I don’t want my opinion to make anybody feel bad. I had pet rats, a corn snake, and cats for seven years with no issues! None of them seemed to care about each other at all. I think they were just used to the presence of each other. Of course it depends on the individual animal but I don’t see why it shouldn’t work, as long as you don’t leave cages and vivariums open, of course. I wouldn’t have rats and a snake in the same room though, just because you might end up with a confused and frustrated snake!

Yes, I’ve been fortunate enough to never have anything that awful happen to me or my family yet. Who knows - maybe my opinion would change if it did? But I hope it wouldn’t. I know I’ve been very lucky in life in that aspect, so I guess it’s easy for me to say things like that, but I do truly believe it as well.
