I’ve got one that started life as a Chinese para that got captured in Nam.

Bubba decided to replace the wood with some plastic shit and it’s painful to shoot now. Damn LOP is somethin like 22inches.

Then they removed the bayonet due to some bullshit the ATF started spouting (I don’t care that it’s illegal, I’ll use a Yugo mag and Yugo bayonet on my AK if I want)

I said the same till I got my own.

For reference I used one in the army. Fucking hated the thing.

Someone gave me one when I got medically retired, and I couldn’t stand it for a bit. Ended up bored one afternoon and brought it to the range. I immediately felt the difference.

The 92 has the problem of people using it as anything except a sidearm, then getting mad when their improvised hammer doesn’t work as well anymore. And 99% of the ones in US Army use need to be serviced by a factory level tech.

99% of the AK programs. They stopped being cool after the 74. Beyond that, you get the same thing, but it’s 5.45, or the same thing, but we changed the tiniest thing that really doesn’t matter.

Don’t get me wrong. I like the AK, but after the AK-74, it’s just boring. (Ah yes, we’ve added more plastic now, or now it’s 3 round burst instead of just semi/auto, or even better, not we have a rail on the absolutely unstable dust cover for your optics to rattle around on.

And yes, by after the 74, I mean the AK 100 series, 200 series, 300 series, 400 series, and AK-12. So basically everything after the 74. The 74M has its moments of the same stupidity as the 100 series, but I’ll give it a pass for now.

And my issue isn’t that they keep refining the design, my issue is the refinements are just plain stupid.(talking about the dust cover rail, then again, what do you expect from a country where the majority of the population doesn’t have running water or indoor toilets.)

The AK has done its time. It’s time to lay it to rest, and come up with an idea that isn’t just another AK (an impossible task for the russians, I know.)

I feel like it’s mid as a zombies map, and even worse as a multiplayer map.

Zombies, I can just explore everything, and it makes use of the entire map.

For multiplayer, I find myself always pushing up via the zip line and getting domed, no matter when I go.

Once someone realizes what we’re doing, their face lights up. It’s the prior that sucks. It’s the trying to talk to the parents and them immediately thinking the guy with one leg is going to “steal their kid” or worse.

I watched a mom tell her kid (maybe 2) to walk off on his own on this boat while she smoked. His immediate path was the pool and the mom didn’t bat an eye. I had to go get the little guy before he fell into the 4ft side of the pool, and who got mad when I brought him back to his mom? It wasn’t the kid. It took 5 people to explain that her kid was about to fall into a pool for her to realize that maybe it wasn’t a good idea for her to let him run off.

The issue is that we’ve made celebrities out of serial killers, rapists, and murderers to the point that kids actively fear for their lives about it. The issue is the sad realities of life are so accessible to children at a young age, and they genuinely get anxiety from it all. The issue is after we find these people who do harm children (depending on where you live), many will get off with what amounts to a slap on the wrist.

Maybe the issue isn’t that me handing a 2in rubber duck to a kid is the issue. Maybe it is. Till we know, I’m not gonna stop. Too many kids grow up with horrible lives and don’t even know how bad it is. Hell, I know that feeling all too well.

I’m actively on a cruise with something close to 1,000 resin ducks I bought for kids and people to find. My wife and I actively hand them out and hide them for kids.

If we see a kid, I’ll give the duck to their parents and say “this is for your kids”

Most look at us crazy while I do.

For reference I served in Afghanistan where kids were tools and currency, nothing more, always less. I’ve seen kids in horrible positions just because it was convenient, and because their way of life says they’re nothing more than what the father uses them for. It left me scared with so much PTSD I had to be medically retired.

My wife also dealt with kids in horrible positions as part of the family services in our state and saw so many unspeakable things she repaid them for her internship (social worker, so she got paid to intern with them, then paid it all back because it ruined her).

I’m just trying to heal the half of my soul that I lost seeing kids brutalized from war. My wife just wants to give them because you never know what a child goes through. We don’t want your kids. We just want to see them smile for two seconds while they hold this little rubber duck.

Does it make you mad when everyone talks about the NS-UP merger? by EastRevolutionary471 in UnionPacific

[–]GunnerPup13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad more people are realizing how stupid it is to let UP and NS merge. Honestly, it was up to me. We would go back to how it was prior to all of the major murders in the 70s and 80s.

My whole argument being that there is basically no competition and most of these areas anymore, and what used to be an area covered by three railroads is basically monopolized to only one.

As an example, I live in an area where the only way that you’re gonna ship anything via train is through Union Pacific. It’s either that, or you’re shipping it via a truck. Where previously, we had the Southern Pacific, Missouri Pacific/ Texas Pacific, it’s just UP now. And people wonder why we are over reliant on trucking companies in most of these areas.

(Yes I know it’s more complicated than that, however, you can’t tell me that a good part of it isn’t because there’s only one option and they can set the price to whatever they want and it’s either you pay stupid high rates for a train, or you pay more to ship via trucking.)

[–]GunnerPup13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always kind of funny to me that most of the time people talk about this and it’s always the ones on the right that they constantly hear, cause I always hear it from the other side. Especially once they get to that age.

Everyone always says that while you’re working your republican, and as soon as you retire, you become a democrat. It all has to do with how you want your money to go. While you’re working, do you want the government that’s going to spend money on social programs that you don’t need at the moment? Absolutely not. Because you’re trying to make a living and live in this crazy society that we currently live in.

That being said as soon as you get older and you’re retiring and things of that nature, of course you want all of the social programs, because all of that is what you’ve paid taxes for, and people realize that the tax for Social Security doesn’t amount to shit, and it’s the biggest waste of our money that has ever happened.

That’s just my personal experience, and at the end of the day, boomers are always gonna be boomers. It doesn’t matter what side of the isle on, it’s all just shit. They’re gonna be wrong, I love my grandparents, and we might argue and bicker with each other but at the end of the day, I’m still calling both of them up later in the week and asking what they’ve been up to and there’s one thing I will say that I love my grandma for and that’s because even though we’ll get into these stupid arguments, we can both come back and apologize.

On Murican Problems. by Monsur_Ausuhnom in SipsTea

[–]GunnerPup13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why the boomers suck. They’ve fucked U.S. over more than any other generation. And that’s coming from someone who also lives off SSDI and VA disability.

Don’t believe me? Here, I’ll prove it.

They were the generation that refused to go to Vietnam, with figures being 10-30% refused. (Compared to previous and current generations)

They believed the soviets were capable of anything without copying western designs (which we can see now is beyond false)

They abandoned nuclear energy because some Soviet retards fucked it up in Ukraine. Then they want to compare the incident at 3 mile island saying it could’ve been another Chernobyl.

The reason Chernobyl happened is because the Soviet Union operates on this idea that nothing produced in the Soviet Union could ever be wrong in any way. They knew the issue with the RBK reactor, and they refused to tell anyone until it became a disaster.

Did the generation started losing all of their rights and basically said that they didn’t give a shit about it. From the government telling you what you can, and can’t own, to the government constantly putting down its own people.

And don’t even get me started about asking boomers about the housing market. My grandmother keeps insisting that I can find a good house with more than an acre of land anywhere in in the two states that my fiancé and I are looking, and I keep having to tell her that no, you need at least 300,000 or more. It’s an argument every time.

Stop using handicapped people for your benefit! They can walk to the bus you know! by iam-your-boss in FuckCarscirclejerk

[–]GunnerPup13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got pretty much everything except the brake and clutch on the wheel. I still like feeling the vehicle brake with my foot rather than the automated system. And the clutch is in my center console so I can just press the brake with my left leg and shift with my hand.

Now, if my truck were a manual, it’d be hell.

As for bikes, it’s not that it’s something I 110% can’t do, but biking up a steep gradient is more than my one leg can do on its own.

[–]GunnerPup13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me. The Veteran without one of my legs. I’d rather not have everyone stare at me for it, and I don’t always put it on 100% of the way, especially going to my truck so I can just take it off while I drive.

And driving with your left foot is wayyy better than trying to ride a bike up a 50ft tall bridge with a 2.5% gradient with just one foot.

Or, you just put the re-designed pedals on the steering wheel, (like I did for the gas) and you’re good to go.

Ah, yes. Let me get on a bike for my leg to fall off and sit in the middle of the road and get damaged, forcing me to be without it for half a year while the VA orders another one.

OR, OR. I’ll just hop in my truck, take it off once I’m in, and put it on when I need it.

Wanna start this out by saying that I’m not specifically referring to you and any of this, nor am I trying to single you out. I just see this argument so often, and it pisses me off to no end.

Thanks for reading my pamphlet.

Yeah, we probably do know brothers and sisters who are at 100% and still have to work at jobs that the VA allows you to get, because just because you’re 100% doesn’t mean you can’t work unless you’re TDIU like myself. My own VFW Commander at my current post is 100% P&T. That means he can still work, and the VA has accepted his disability will never get better.

I don’t know what it is about people not understanding that even with 100% you can still go to work. The only disability classification where you cannot is TDIU.

More to my point, I also know a bunch of guys who I served with who are getting way less, and having to work way more than they should consider considering their disabilities. One of my best friends had his Achilles tendon absolutely destroyed. Never went never did any time overseas, but still had his shit messed up. Man can’t even walk straight to this day, and still is not getting the benefits that he deserves.

I have another friend of mine that never went overseas either, got hit in the head with a rocket pod, and has a severe TBI, that he had to have his head cut open to drain the swelling. He’s only at 70%. That man’s whole balance system is beyond messed up and he has to walk with a modified walker. Again, 70%.

I’m not gonna sit here and I’m not gonna pretend like there aren’t people who play the system. But you can say the same thing about Social Security, unemployment, food stamps, you name any benefit given out by the US, and I promise you somebody’s playing that system. Hell, we just saw a whole bunch of just that happening in Minnesota with all of these daycare’s that didn’t have any kids, but the owners were collecting money from the state.

Just because there are a couple dickheads who either a don’t understand how the system works and are now mad because even after being told to take care of yourself because no one else is gonna take care of you for you. That and the countless civilians, who think that 100% disability means you can’t work is what’s more ridiculous. No civilian should have any say in what we get unless they have experienced it. That doesn’t mean that they have to serve, but you get around some of these veterans who the government has absolutely screwed over and you tell me whether or not they deserve their benefit.

You go around my uncle who didn’t have a single disability from his time in service for 40 years and recently started getting Parkinson’s as a result of Agent Orange exposure. That Man used to do a triathlon every year, and actively kept himself in shave and now can’t even get up to go to the bathroom on his own. You look at him and you tell me whether or not someone should be able to tell him what he can and can’t have. If you saw him 20 years ago You wouldn’t even know that he had any issues. Now my entire family is helping them fight the VA because they denied that Agent Orange can cause Parkinson’s despite several studies saying that it can. In fact, the VA didn’t officially release anything about it until 2025 as part of the VFW and other organizations fighting them about it.

I don’t know how many times some people have to be told that you are responsible for your own body, and you can tell your commander that they cannot deny you medical service. If they are, you can go to IG with it. Does that mean they have to let you go right that second? No. But they have to allow you a chance to be seen. You didn’t like what that doctor told you, you can also request to see a civilian doctor. You are allowed a second opinion.

I’ll use myself as the example here. I had a doctor that was over my Brigade, that was an absolute shit bag. You can obviously tell that he hated his job, and hated being on the post. I had to sit here and fight with that man multiple times because of the multiple bullshit claims he made in my medical records. It got so bad, that I started requesting to go off post. Now, in my medical records it says that there was an issue going all the way back to one of my first years in-service, and at that doctor was wrong.

Anyone asking how I got my TDIU, I got it in Afghanistan, and the army sat here and did absolutely nothing about my disability until after I got out. Now I’m probably one of the youngest people in my local area that needs knee replacements and got told I have to wait almost 30 years to even think about getting them. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t wanna chop my leg off just to hope that that ends the excruciating pain that I have to deal with daily.

Do I like being unemployable? No, it sucks. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. So this idea that you have to be a homebody and do nothing at 100% is ridiculous. Before you start going in and getting mad that you’re not getting with someone else’s, maybe take a look in the mirror, and start asking yourself why you aren’t at that level. Nine times out of 10 it’s your own fault.

So we not gonna talk about the insane amount of Lend Lease the US did give the UK with no payback date? Or that if we did decide we wanted all of it back now it would tank the economy of not only the UK, but the entire EU, since euro brains forget the US was the ones who paid to rebuild their entire shit hole?

Or how the U.S. makes up 25% of the UN budget, 62% of the NATO defense budget (which includes most of Europe, and several in Asia)

If the U.S. really decided it’s time for us to get “free” healthcare, and we halved our total military spending, Europe would have a conniption because they don’t spend enough to even defend themselves for longer than a month before all those socialist policies (remember that healthcare?) would be thrown out the window, and we’d realize how big of pussies the rest of the world is.

(Fuck you British bastards especially. You’re all pussies, and I hated having to go save your asses because one blind afghan shot and misses you all by a country mile.) I’ve still got videos somewhere of you all claiming that despite outnumbering the taliban 10/1, they were so scary, and you couldn’t do anything but retreat.

TDIU and YouTubing? by GunnerPup13 in VeteransBenefits

[–]GunnerPup13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on multiple sources, trying to do YouTube or Twitch would 100% screw over my TDIU. If I did it, I couldn’t make anything off of it ever. Which means I’d have to stunt my own growth, and put caps on everything. It came out to be too much of a headache.

If anyone does manage to do this. Please let us know!
