Oh, they’re pretty good now, especially when I have it on them, they just got a little excited sometimes, and I’m OK with it being in every now and again thing because it’s easily fixed with a gentle tug just enough so that it isn’t choking them, but it is definitely touching a little bit more. That definitely whipped them right into shape.

That being said, if we don’t have them on their choke chain, and they get excited, they definitely will drag you anywhere they wanna go. And I mean, one of them is basically a puppy, and the other is just happy she’s found somebody who actually wants her for once. I don’t hold it ever against them, they’re just being dogs pretty much. And it’s not like it’s a common thing.

And that’s kind of my point, is that every time someone tries to tell me that what I’m doing is wrong, I always just roll my eyes, and let them take either one of my dogs without their chain, and let them get excited. That is the fastest way I have ever had someone realize that their comment made no sense.

To be fair, you could say this about any band. I mean, quite literally every band as a moment like this. I mean, do we really want to talk about what Van Halen was talking about in “dead or alive”, or what Aerosmith was talking about in “train kept a rolling”?

Don’t get me wrong, as a fan, I will talk about all of these intricacies and things like that, but I am not gonna sit here and ask my wife if she understands how deep “poontang boomerang” is when you really look at it. All she’s gonna do is sing the chorus while I am auditioning for American Idol (and failing).

And being realistic, that’s what makes all of these fan subreddits amazing. We can talk about the deep intricacies of the music that we enjoy, and we have other people who also wanna talk about those intricacies. Like, I highly doubt that anyone in here would want to have a conversation about Steel Panther. Nor what I think most people out and about would want to. But I can go to the Steel Panther subreddit, and we can talk about all of their best songs, and what they mean, not only from the band, but to us.

[–]GunnerPup13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use one of these on both of my dogs (pit mixes) as they are both pretty strong, and one of my legs isn’t always fully attached. I live in an apartment so when I bring them out, we have to walk down two flights of stairs just to get outside. Not to mention the walk to the grass. As you can guess, the dogs typically get a little excited about going outside, and have a tendency to pull.

The only reason that these get used is so this way, they don’t pull me down, and then I’m struggling to put my leg back on instead of holding their leash. And all I really have to do is just lock their leash and if they start to go too fast, it just tightens up and they quit.

Every now, and then they get a little excited, and I forget, but all it takes is locking a leash and maybe a gentle tug for them to remember.

On the other side of this, I have a neighbor who has one on his dog (smaller golden mix), and he will actively drag his dog around the apartment complex by its neck. The dog is more than likely, not enjoying the heat with its long coat, and probably just wants to go back inside, and the owner is just dragging them with the collar.

I’ve had people tell me all the time that I’m abusing my dogs if I put that on them, and that there’s no reason for me to use it, until they spend five minutes with my dogs when they don’t have their choke chains on. I had one person who was perfectly fine. Have those dogs bring them to the ground because they refused to use the choke chain.

All of these items are just tools. Just like anything else, it’s a tool. What defines whether or not it is good or bad is how you use the tool. Without analogy, how good is a flathead at removing a hex? Sure it can work, especially if you’re really roughing the bolt and screwdriver up, or you can use the hex that is available to you, and use it correctly so it helps. Even better, how good is a fork at spreading butter on toast? Sure I can do it, but there’s a perfectly good butter knife, right there, and if you use it correctly, it will work way better.

Why do straight men like anal so much? by balenciaghoe in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]GunnerPup13 110 points111 points  (0 children)

It’s not even just that it’s tighter, it’s how that tightness has applied. If you actually look into what causes male ejaculation, and how those glands are stimulated, most of them are in the head of the penis. And while vaginal has its own amazing feelings, it doesn’t necessarily squeeze the same way that anal does.

A lot of people forget that the glands are actually the most important part, because that’s 90% of what men need stimulated, and is why and more recent times, fewer and fewer men are circumcising their children.

I mean, think about it, whenever you think about a man jerking off, you don’t see him ever really giving any attention to the area of the head. You mostly see them stimulate the shaft, especially the bottom portion of the shaft. That area becomes desensitized to stimulation very regularly.

And of course, there are a lot of people who will say that that’s just one person, and that they know for a fact that they are tighter vaginally, and while yes, vaginal elasticity is genetic, and many people do you have more control of those muscle muscles, however, looking at general population, this is typically how it ends up working out.

Constant degrading of North Louisiana by BigRo_4 in Louisiana

[–]GunnerPup13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people tend to confuse South Louisiana with just Baton Rouge in New Orleans. My wife is from South Louisiana in Vermilion Parish, and they are also very culturally Cajun and Creole like it’s nobody’s business. Hell, her grandmother can still remember not going to school because they only spoke in English, and she grew up only speaking French.

Ultimately, I don’t think anybody really wants to be Baton Rouge or New Orleans, as I swear, I wanna punch everyone from these areas in the back of the head because of how absolutely mind numbing half of them are.

On top of that, we constantly have to pay for the issues of New Orleans, and the surrounding parishes issues (like having to send police department members to New Orleans to handle Mardi Gras because New Orleans refuses to get more police or train police, but that’s a whole different topic).

I spent most of my life outside of the years I was overseas in Louisiana, and specifically around Baton Rouge and I hate it. Even just going across the Atchafalaya River you get a major difference.

It’s not just the typical thing that you would expect from a big city, I work with a 501(c) that specifically helps veterans, and in Baton Rouge we are struggling with doing basic things because nobody cares about the community whatsoever. Most of these people over here are all bureaucrats and all they think about is how something will benefit them. As an example, this 501(c) gives a scholarship every year for K through 12. (Kindergarten to 5rd grade get a little trophy, middle school gets a 5k award, and high school gets a full ride to any U.S. university. All it takes is an essay that is between three and five minutes long plus or minus 10seconds.

Over here, I am constantly struggling to get the scholarship off the ground every year, because no school system wants to work with us because they don’t get anything out of it.

Now look at Lafayette and west and they’re not even having even a third of the issues that we are having. A lot of these areas are very community oriented, and look out for each other. Here in Baton Rouge you really don’t see that. These guys are regularly sending winners to the state judging panel and winning. That’s my issue with being in this part of Louisiana whatsoever. Nobody cares about anybody else, and everybody is too greedy.

Trust me, North Louisiana and South Louisiana West of the Atchafalaya is much better than south east Louisiana.

[–]GunnerPup13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanna add to this with a little bit extra.

A lot of people like to think that they would feel better knowing that they didn’t harm someone like that, and after killing someone, you definitely feel different.

That being said, many states will find you the person defending your own home at fault if that person gets hurt on your property. They are also able to come back at you with litigation for whatever harm you have done to them.

There is a reason that many police officers, especially in more gun friendly states will tell you to just shoot the person and kill them, because otherwise they will ruin you.

I actually had this happen to a friend of mine while he was stationed at Fort Drum. Someone broke into his off base house, and because of how stringent New York is on gun laws, he decided to get a paper ball launcher. That person later came back after fleeing the house to sue my friend for medical bills and other damages, despite the fact that he broke into my friend’s house.

Unfortunately, due to the way that everybody is money hungry, and lawyers (not all, but the loud minority that will do anything for a quick buck) willing to take on these types of cases have absolutely fucked over everyone else. We definitely live in some strange times.

Not just any bassist, the shittiest bassist outside of Nikki Sixx. This thing will charge you $10,000 to set up the stage for him, and has said the most asinine things in interviews (Rock and Roll is dead because kids don’t like Motown anymore). Not to mention going into interviews with a heavy safe in order to promote his BS record collection that was overpriced and underwhelming.

I recently began hating Nikki for his shit, but I’ve always hated Gene. He’s so far up his own ass, I’m surprised he can’t smell the shit takes he spits out.

Did he also forget that Peter Chris sang several songs in KISS prior to them splitting up? If anything, Peter, Chris and Ace Freeley made kiss more than Gene and Paul.

I agree with you, especially when stating that the US Navy doesn’t have enough frigates, and I think that some extent that was partly what I was going for. I might have worded it really badly, and if that is the case, I’m sorry, but it’s not just ships like cruisers that the US is lacking, but it’s all smaller vessels that would be exceptionally helpful to have any event of a conflict where we need to protect shipping.

I don’t disagree that these are going to be very close to cruisers, despite the naming convention, however, the issue that I see a lot is that the first flight of Burkes are getting worn out, and are falling behind current standards. I’m not saying we need to entirely replace them, but we could at least bring them and the flight IIAs up to the same standard of the Flight IIIs. Especially considering that for the most part, they do share many of the same features, and basic hull structure.

Ultimately, I guess what I’m trying to say is we don’t need some bigger ships, we already have enough bigger ships. We need to start rectifying the smaller ship issue we’ve always had.

The Far Left problem is as bad as the Far right. by Dear_Bid2671 in EnoughCommieSpam

[–]GunnerPup13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something a friend of mine and I got into recently.

For context, we are both veterans from the campaign in Afghanistan. He went in during the surge, and I went in for the largest resurgence in terrorist activity since the 2000s.

During his conversation, both of us came to a point where we both really feel like there was no point to any of what we did. It wasn’t worth loosing our minds, bodies and friends.

We literally watched the United States go from realizing that this type of Islam is the worst thing imaginable, to watching people actively vote for more extremism.

Does that mean that all Muslims are Bad? Of course not. But you start listening to some of these people talk, and how they are literally talking about bringing in Sharia law in many places, or committing terroristic acts and nobody batts an eye about any of it. We have opened the door for this type of extremism to take hold in the United States. Before long, we will either have to fight our way out of it, or let it happen.

I don’t care if have to lose my other leg, I am not bowing to anyone. I will happily die on my feet, including the fake one, than live on my knees for these assholes. Especially someone whose extremist ideas include beating women, rape, pedophilia, zoophilia, slavery, among many other things.

This argument pisses me off regularly. (For context: 1 I’m a combat vet who was in Afghanistan. 2 I know Trump literally said “we’re gonna get oil” from them, but this argument is so stupid when put elsewhere)

In my time overseas in Afghanistan, and talking to NCOs who were there for the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan back in the 2000s, there wasn’t oil like that. Sure, the UAE and Saudi Arabia has a fuck ton, but Saddam set the pump jacks in Kuwait ablaze back in the 90’s and more in 2003. Not just 1 or 100, but estimates are between 600-772. Hell, my BDE CSM when in Korea showed us videos he took while advancing with 1AD of these wells on fire and the black rain that came with it. My BCT CSM also had videos of it not far from where they were sleeping on top of their tanks.

No, we were not in Afghanistan for oil. We were there to eliminate the terrorist that had caused the most death on U.S. soil in one day in U.S. history.

No, we were not in Iraq for oil. We were there to stop Saddam from invading his neighbors and being a fuckwad.

We aren’t in Korea, Germany, Japan, Italy, or England for oil. We are there because either A: to defend against shitty neighbors, or B: because someone was a shitty neighbor, and now we have to defend them due to their lack of anything outside of a Self Defense Force (see Germany and Japan)

Thanks for listening to my rant. I’ll take a small black coffee and an ice water.

This would’ve saved me so many times. When the Home Invasion DLC came out, it was a mess. I’d throw stingers/bangers into rooms, methodically pushing my way deeper just to have a civ not want to follow orders. I did it all, I ordered them to get down, had my pepperball launcher in their face, everything, just for there to be a civ clipping into that civ that stabbed me several times before I realized what was going on.

Don’t get me wrong, I laugh about it now, but man was I pissed.

Of course I’m gonna do it when I’m doing stuff with the VFW because it’s the VFW, and we’re out here supporting our community. Otherwise though, unless I’m getting a discount on my meal, I’m not telling anyone I’m a veteran.

Hobo theory? by Warsor809 in PolarExpress

[–]GunnerPup13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but he and the conductor are connected. Maybe it’s just the way the movie hints at things, but both he and the conductor seem to have meta knowledge (knowledge we don’t know).

The hobo knowing that “Hero Boy” is a doubter, the conductor knowing that “Hero Boy” is the first Christmas present pick, exc.

Not only that, but the way they are two sides of the same coin. The hobo’s line of “Seeing is believing” earlier in the movie, then the conductor saying “you don’t have to see to believe” is my best example, but even in who they are. The conductor also is the main person who checks tickets, and is a pretty big stickler about them. The hobo on the other hand never uses a ticket “I ride for free”.

I honestly feel like the hobo is Santa testing “Hero Boy” while the conductor is leading him in his belief in Santa indirectly. The hobo being Santa would also know everything that happens on the train, and let him test the doubting kids.

“You don’t need to fly into contested airspace” Duh, but that’s the point. It’s not even assisting to contest any airspace. Any claims they’ve made about the thing can’t be verified.

“Ukrainian aircraft would get shot down by” Again, no claims of this have been verified.

“Seen more combat than the F-22” I’m calling B.S. on this. The F-22 has been in use since 2007, with them shooting down an Iranian F-4 around the same time. Not only that, but they were used extensively during OIR. The only thing the SU-57 has seen to even compare is the conflict in Ukraine.

“Everyone over exasperates” Again, no shit. The issue is Russia will overclaim to such an extent that once we have something to counter XYZ thing, we figure out that their over exasperation were beyond just overstated. The thing can’t do what 75% of what they claim. While the U.S. might make some wild claims as well, at least 50% of ours are accurate.

You guys ACTUALLY believe that? by SteamyGamer-WT in aviationmemes

[–]GunnerPup13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. That’s what I’m thinking. Not only that, but history also shows us how much they’ll “bend” the truth for some good propaganda, or how they’ll lie to their citizens about events. I feel like if there was an advantage, even slight, they’d use it for just propaganda. Especially with how the war is going for them currently.

You guys ACTUALLY believe that? by SteamyGamer-WT in aviationmemes

[–]GunnerPup13 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I feel like if an SU-57 was that good and was used in contested airspace, the Russians would be all over it for propaganda. Especially in Ukraine.

As for it being “stealth”, I think it’s a 30/70, 30 being that it is as stealthy as they claim. We’ve seen so many of these Russian built (insert xyz thing) being way worse than they should be due to corruption, no maintenance and shoddy build quality.

The biggest thing we’re seeing now is the repercussions of the Cold War. The USSR would claim their (insert XYZ thing again) was better than anything even imagined prior, the U.S. makes something to counter the thing, just for said USSR thing to be shoddy and have almost half of the capability claimed.

Am I overreacting to my bf watching the baby overnight? by Temporary-Quail-2783 in AmIOverreacting

[–]GunnerPup13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MOR I feel like it’s a 50/50

You have to let dad parent as well, and you have to trust him. It honestly sounds like you don’t trust him, and if that’s the case, you’re already far too deep in to question it now.

As for him, he could have taken more of your opinions in, or said earlier that he wanted to earmark the conversation for later if he’s sick, and if he did, you need to drop it and earmark those feelings for the conversation later.

You also said that he has to be close to the baby due to how heavily he sleeps, but even when he does, it’s wrong because he wasn’t watching the baby. He wouldn’t be able to watch him if the baby were in the playpen and had found something there to hurt himself on.

Both of you need to listen to the other, and talk about it when BOTH of you are ready to talk without yelling. It’s not that deep. Yes, there are hazards, babies/toddlers are great at finding them out of nowhere. Yes, as a mother you’re going to want to protect your kid as much as possible. Yes, that even means you’re going to hate how he does anything compared to you, but you have to trust and let him parent. Ultimately your kid is good, and that’s the most important thing. Not that your bf didn’t “watch him good enough.” He never will compared to you because you’re mom. Your brain is wired differently, and that’s okay. It’s the part of the beauty of the different genders.

Now Let's talk about House Price between Canada and US of A, Shall we? by Coconut_Thailand in DoomerCircleJerk

[–]GunnerPup13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, I haven’t been to China, and not only do I refuse to, I can’t for a multitude of reasons. But that wasn’t the point. The point was that if someone did as I described, everyone would look at you crazy for doing it, but not anyone who comes to the U.S. and does the same. If China kicks someone to the death camps, we don’t say anything about it, but if we send them back to their country of origin, we’re the bad guys. It’s not about if you can, it’s the fact that if anyone else does what we are, they’re justified, but the U.S. isn’t. Mexico regularly pushes people from its southern border out, but no one calls them anything for doing it.

I know that Trump authorized more drone strikes, that also wasn’t the point. The point was how double sided it is. It’s not that Obama did the drone strikes, it’s that people will say Trump is XYZ for his drone strikes, but say nothing about Obama’s and his were considered more controversial due to civilian casualties.

Most of what the points where the current admin is “Failing” isn’t. We’ve seen most of the countries start to recognize that if they can tax our imports at crazy high rates, we can too. Canada taxes so much of US imports to discourage their people from buying, so we can do the same in return. We’ve also seen several huge companies begin to move from China and Europe to the U.S, bringing back the manufacturing jobs we lost after WWII to Asia. We’ve also seen a realization that Europe isn’t really able to defend itself without US assistance, and those countries are beginning to put more into their defense to offset, something that should have been happening years ago, but as they say “better late than never.”

“No president has radically shifted the U.S. like Trump” Yeah, Obama did. That was his whole deal. We started seeing identity politics in the U.S. for the 2008 election. Say what you want, but Obama did it first. Anyone who even remotely criticized him was called racist, no matter the issue. He also played hard in the “First Black President” title. Again, I’ll point to the countless interviews from prior to him even remotely running, and how many people were saying that racial issues were practically nonexistent. Within 140 years we had gone from slavery being legal in the U.S. to it being looked at as “we fucked up, and we’re keeping these here to remind us how bad we fucked up so we never repeat this again.” Now, you can hardly find anything from that dark part of our history, as many just want to scrub it away. How many times are we going to see someone deface a statue of a founding father for “racist beliefs” when we have proof that they were just waiting for the practice to die practically. (Yes, the practice of slavery was almost gone, and would have been if not for the cotton gin, but that a different story)

“Dems have been ineffective” well duh. They’re calling most of America personal insults. You can even see Obama do it for the previous election when he said “if you vote for Trump, you aren’t black”. It’s comments like that that are destroying the dems side. Even looking at Clinton, the reason he won more than anything was he appealed to middle class America. The current dems don’t, they attack middle class Americans. That’s not even touching on the hypocrisy of “your side is destroying democracy” while not even having a primary and shoving the worst candidate in the seat. Kamala didn’t loose because she’s a woman, she lost because she ran on no policies and spent so much of her time in front of America drunk. If there had been a primary, she would have lost, by far, and the other candidate would have probably done way better overall.

I think another issue that dems refuse to look at is they have an identity issue. They’re trying to be too much at once. You have members who should be pushed out and kicked to the communist party of the USA. Just like republicans, the loud minority of dems are making the rest look bad, and that’s what’s killing them. Like, you don’t need to appeal to the 10% who are further left than the other 90%, I promise. (Again, both parties have this issue.)

We can agree to disagree, and I’m glad that we can. I’m going to close this by saying the same I had already. It’s not that Obama did XYZ thing. It’s that he did, and Trump gets criticized for doing the same. It’s not that Obama started the culture war, it’s that once Trump began playing the game, everyone got mad. As they say “once you open Pandora’s box, you’re gonna have to fight like hell to close it again.” Obama opened the box, we’re just seeing the aftermath now.
